Really do want to see some tests with Gallant's Roll and Indi-Barrier now :D :D
Really do want to see some tests with Gallant's Roll and Indi-Barrier now :D :D
We need to test more values to know for sure. I checked like 3x smaller values and 3x larger values, and they all matched up to 1:1.5 exactly, but I'll try checking a larger range.
Don't both of those raise defense directly though? That shouldn't be affected at all by the changes in this update?
Afaik both Roll and Barrier are a % boost to Defense.
Since our base defense will be much higher thanks to the new VIT>Def ratio, in theory the boosts from Gallant and Indi should skyrocket as well? That was my thinking at least, I might be wrong /shrug
On my RUN, who has no particularly noteworthy gear at all, in Escha with Gallant's Roll the other day I was at >2800 Defense lol
Some non-pet VIT:DEF numbers XD :
As 99MNK/49BRD (no worries about subjob traits)
+VIT | +DEF | Ratio
18 27 1.5
44 66 1.5
74 111 1.5
89 134 1.5056...
90 135 1.5
100 150 1.5
As 99BLM/49BRD
+VIT | +DEF | Ratio
0 (261 naked)
15 23 1.533...
36 54 1.5
61 92 1.5081...
67 101 1.5074...
72 108 1.5
80 120 1.5
... I am 99.999% sure its a simple 1.5 ratio :D The only variances are on the odd numbers, and those can be explained by rounding/flooring, no?
edit: I used Randy for the pet testing and totally forgot that he gets a defense-10% penalty ><;; Gonna do a couple quick ones w/ a pet that has no def mod...
edit: Test results -
Hurler Percival (no defense modifier)
+VIT_+DEF____Ratio
7______10_____1.4285...
14_____21_____1.5
21_____31_____1.4761...
28_____42_____1.5
35_____52_____1.4857...
I think it's safe to say that the ratio for pets is also 1vit=1.5def!
-------
This is actually pretty big news that affects all of us, not just pet jobs....
"The amount of defense a player gains by increasing VIT has been increased for the following characters.
PCs / Alter egos / Fellows / Familiars / Wyverns/ Avatars / Automatons / Luopans"
Trusts just got a major buff as well ^_^
Windower resources and slips.lua have been adjusted for this update.
Has anyone tested the evasion and AoE magic changes on escha/reisenjimmy mobs yet?
Would like to know what sort of expectations I should set when I log on today
I feel that the practicality of nuking in the new Ambuscade armor is overshadowed by the fact it has next to no haste. Who cares if you do more damage if you can't cast again as fast?
Crossposting my findings:
Level 126 Serac Rabbit now checks low evasion at exactly 1018 accuracy. Level 126 rabbits were previously reported to have 1068 evasion and 235 AGI. 80% hitrate means I have 10 more accuracy than the monster's evasion, so new evasion should be 1008. New formula for monster AGI:evasion is probably 4:1, or half the previous contribution.
Tested Maju with the recent change on evasion, my avatar was almost capped on acc with 1586, the cap is probably at around 1600~1650.
So if the AGI nerf is significant, would this mean bringing a BLM or /BLM for Frost is now useful like in Yuhtunga?
No, it means the opposite; a debuff that reduces Agility by say, 20, will now reduce evasion by only 5, instead of 10.
Depends? If the -agi from frost is a trivial amount like... -13, you'd only be dropping something like 3-ish eva if the 4:1 ratio holds true.
which is the supposed debuff amount according to https://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Category:Elemental_Debuff
But I don't know if this has changed since it was made.
I think they forgot to buff Prishe II. I'm not seeing any difference in output based on rough eyeballing.
