Saw it's sharp from the king 3 times total, but I also had a couple stun procs. Never saw junk.

It's sharp was just doing 1111 because I did the mechanics correctly. Junk he spammed, not shitting you, like 5 times in a row lol
Halting rumba to R3 (only needed R2), powerchain to R3. Brought multibreak on rikku since I forgot that nightmares are immune to breaks, ran out of offensive hones on most of my characters midway through phase 2 second tonberry wave, ran out of offensive hones when tonberry chef was at 2/3, ran out of cures at 1/3 tonberry chef. Desperately needed sentinel grimoire and protectga to keep the soul breaks coming on the king. Phoenix plunder kept HP up through junk, blaze rush and rumble rush let me actually deal damage. Autoing down the chef for most of the fight was quite an experience...
I got amazingly lucky with him only doing Junk. Before I dropped the last in phase 2, I walled and RW was Pro/Shell/Regen. Junk hit for ~500. Zack/Vaan/Rikku each had 3 SB charges of multi-hits (Apoc, Pyro, and one HyperNull and then Machina). Vaan had TR which was 7kX5. Locke was there for Mirage Dive (the only slow I took). Y'sh locked down with stop. 1/1 with no S/L. Of course, I actually read Robert's post BEFORE going in...
Took like 6-7 tries to take it down >_> I underestimated the amount of work to take down the trash. Ended up having to do some hones to actually get it done.
For these, I always recommend Battleforged, Ace Striker, and Defender's Charge to crank out the SBs.
Mandies were definitely more annoying than the tonberries. Especially without any 12 SB's to synergize with. Fuck those guys.
Tonberries
Tyro: Halting Rumba, Curaga (Forgot to switch out for Curaja) ; ended up only using SG and didn't bother with Keeper's Tome
Lightning: Tempo Flurry, Life Siphon ; BSSB for Dismissal and aoe slow
Shadow: Doppelblade, Dismissal ; Shadow Fang
Thancred: Shadowbind, Dismissal ; Jin-Chi-Ten
Zack: Bladeblitz, Dismissal ; Air Strike
RW: Shout
Had to s/l once cause the first tonberry kept resisting everything, but after killing it with only two Shadowbinds, things went smoothly. Just spammed Halting Rumba, Air Strikes, and used Shadow Fang and Jin-Chi-Ten after Shout, which does a good chunk of damage. R2 Halting Rumba was good enough to make it to the Tonberry King. After that I just spammed all my Dismissals and went all out ftw. Lost only one medal on Action in the end.
Looking back on the fight, Crushing Blow probably would've made the fight go faster, but I wanted to make sure I could cover all the medals and hit slow procs whenever I could.
