Honestly, if Kojima was still happily employed at Konami, no one would bat an eye at this and just say "yep, makes sense" and eagerly await its release.

Doubt it.
The only thing that makes sense is that the parasite soldiers technically already exist but aside from the grunt ones they're not really slow stupid zombies. Those snipers are insane and the stone ones can suck it.
But I did speculate around the mother base soldiers in MGsV making sense because of this.
Also I just considered wormholes non-canon tomfoolery tbh even the Fulton ones but that's just me lol
Also as much as it's the story for me it's more so the genre of it. Doesn't seem like a good idea. No further justifying the obvious reasons people are pissed with a zombie survival coop MGSV when they couldn't be assed to finish MGSV and we got that unfulfilling rushed plot holed ending.
Konami is doing the same thing to Metal Gear as they did to Suikoden as when the main team behind the series left/fired, they went ahead and created an alternative timeline (Tierkreis).
Can't wait to see the huge amount of microtransactions they're gonna put into this. Guess the MGSV bullshit wasn't enough. #FucKonami
Looking at the caps, if I didn't know the title I thought I would be looking at the next CoD Zombies or L4D. I would have never thought this would be a Metal Gear game.
Being honest though, if this basically becomes MGS5 but with co-op you basically have Dead Island or Dying Light with MGS5's engine. Which isn't as bad as it sounds but Metal Gear it certainly is not.
Came across this and had a good chuckle:
Gameplay
Watching the Gameplay, and not saying this in a bad way, but that original trailer was garbage if it was meant to set the tone of this game.
From the gameplay though... essentially MGS infiltration followed by a Horde-Mode type defense of an object, complete with building defenses. I think it could have easily been a DLC to MGSV though... If its a full priced game, I don't know how I'll feel... I don't tend to buy full priced games that consist entirely of a co-op MP experience and nothing else.
Speculated $30, Konami will only say less than 60.
because its 59.99 :D
I didn't ask for this...
Better than the trailer, but still looks like a mod
I think it has some promise, but echoing the above: really hoping it's not a full price game because it kind of looks like all they did was add 3 players to MGS5.
Still if you ever wanted Dead Island in your MGS, I guess this is your fix.

Even the game cover art turned into exactly what I thought it was going to be...a piece of shit.
I don't think it has enough things happening on the cover. It looks like the cover is for a series collection. lol

So the Metal Gear franchised has turned into one of those they slap on literally anything and hope for more sales huh? Talk about a decline or tone shift.
