I wonder if Konami thought this was a good idea or if they're trying to give a big "Fuck You" to Kojima
I wonder if Konami thought this was a good idea or if they're trying to give a big "Fuck You" to Kojima
I'm betting on it being a "fuck you" personally.
From commenters on various news blogs, it seem most of them are ready to say the same to Kojima and purchase the game simply because it has the Metal Gear name slapped on.
What's worse, the game itself or the fact that they know it's not worth full price and are selling it for $40.
That's a pretty easy question, because one of them is exclusively bad and one of them is good. What's worse, a pile of piping hot, steaming shit, or a decent home cooked meal?
The only bad side to being $40 is that when it sells like shit it will be used to justify the so called invalidity of the $40 price point, when the real reason was because it was (or is all but guaranteed to be) a substandard product.
It still looks fun as hell. Ill probably buy it
Overview & SynopsisKonami Digital Entertainment breaks new ground with an original spin-off from Metal Gear Solid V titled Metal Gear Survive. This title introduces a fresh spirit of exploration, unique mechanics and strategic co-op gameplay.
Following Big Boss’ escape at the end of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, a soldier on the collapsing Mother Base is nearly pulled into a wormhole that opens over the base. The soldier loses consciousness and awakes six months later in a facility belonging to Wardenclyffe Section, a secret research organization within the United States government. Players take the role of this soldier with a goal of rescuing those pulled into the wormhole half a year ago and to find a cure for a mysterious infection. “You don’t get to sit this one out. You’re already infected with that lifeform I was telling you about,” a man named Goodluck in Wardenclyffe Section instructs.
Metal Gear Survive is a survival action game in an alternative universe. In a struggle to survive and understand this hellish new environment, players engage in both single player and connected co-op. In the battle for survival scavenged materials must be wrought into usable items, gear and weapons if you are to have any hope of making it home.
Key Features
• Two modes of play – single player and co-op. Character experience, skills and items obtained are shared between the two modes.
• Build and develop your Base Camp. This offers access to crafting weapons and gear, and serves as a command center for planning missions in both single player and co-op modes.
• Gather resources, blueprints and raw materials for use in crafting. These can be gathered in single player mode by exploring the environment or won in successful co-op missions.
• Develop Base Camp with new facilities to aid survival, including crop growing, animal rearing, and food and water storage. As your camp develops you’ll gain access to high grade crafting items.
• Manage resources, including essentials such as food and water, as well as raw materials used for weapons, defences and expendables.
• Complete daily, weekly and special event Orders for rewarding materials and blueprints to be used in single player and co-op.
Not gonna lie. it doesn't look as fuckawful as we all probably thought.
Still won't buy tho.
It looks like MGS5...except kinda not really? Probably feels the same. I don't expect it to play or feel bad, but I'm still not getting it lol
Hate listening to this shill, but there is footage in there that I haven't seen before.
Beta Build: PS4 Pro > XB1THX > PS4 > XB1TH
First 50~ Minutes
not watching that because of spoilers but IS IT WORTH GETTING
I like the idea of this game a lot but I also dont like spending money so it better be good
Konami is sending out DMCA's to channels who are posting the launch trailer. This one is from their official channel.
Anyone get this? I like the idea but I need to be convinced
Giant Bomb podcast was saying that the first hour is a tutorial and achievements come fast and loose. You get one for sitting through the title card, another for watching the cut scene after that. The game does have MGSV-long CS', too.
This has a currency you need to buy with real money, if you want stuff like the ability to play more than one character lol.
Do characters do anything other than change the skin? I'm not watching these videos lol
