And Arsenal 4th amirite?
And Arsenal 4th amirite?
Hopefully 20th. Fuck Arsenal.
Mah boi Ozil is there. I can't hate.
the only sure thing. boardroom and wenger happy with CL cash, supporters happy with a St Totteringhams
Hull and Swansea are going down and mercifully only one more of a handful of woeful squads this season.
Re: this matchday, I am excite for Liverpool - Man City and will probably watch allll of the minutes.
now is the best time! uh, 3pm GMT and what have you
Alan Curtis back in charge at Swansea as interim manager for the second time in a year. Players certainly feel it; look for a result today against Bournemouth. Maybe.
Leicester supporters all get a free beer today on the owners, lol. God damn they need a win hosting the Hammers. To start, I suppose I fancy this and Chelsea's match, home v Stoke, before a switch to United-Boro in later minutes.
I will be watching the scoreline only. Too much shit to do today. Also, got the boys playing at 8:30 tomorrow.
aww. s'ok, i update you here. you know, all of these matches run their course in less than our EST-to-MST difference. it hampers the Saturday way less
Leicester came out to play from the start today--looking good going forward and scored first for only the 5th time so far this season--and opened with a thumping header from Slimani on a beautiful first-time cross from Albrighton.
Bournemouth have also scored, but that's it out of the six matches, which are at the end of the first quarter.
Edit: lots more goals came in before the break; all games at halftime and only scoreless at Old Trafford, where Zlatan was denied a goal for a high kick. He hit no one but the keeper was near. Kinda shitty call, but i dunno. Burnley and Chelsea up 1-0, Bournemouth up 2 now, and Southampton-West Brom are 1-1. Leicester should be up more than 1-0; it's been a fantastic match surprisingly, with good chances both ways. West Ham hit the crossbar and could argue similar misfortune.
Was hoping for 4-0 but 4-1 will do.
Big fucking match on Wednesday.
Weird to me that the EPL doesnt take xmas break. But kinda nice I guess.
I miss watching Bayern games atm.
January 1st standings:
Football is weird this year, yo.
Oh, and here is that insane Giroud scorpion kick goal, because I GUESS ONE WASN'T ENOUGH THIS WEEKEND.
I don't watch soccer, but just look at standings randomly....what happened to leicester?
All the expected reasons:
Leicester focusing more on The Champions League since they qualified.
Man U, Chelsea, and Liverpool went all out to regain top four; while City, Arsenal and Spurs are remaining steady.
Leicester's sale of N'golo Kante to Chelsea.
Leicester's players just aren't playing at their peak anymore.
Leicester's style (lightning counterattack) has been largely figured out.
they're still alive in CL though, no?
Yep! They made it to the knockouts. Facing Sevilla in the RO16.
It has been completely figured out in England with the lone exception of Pep, an EPL newcomer and mildly('-'?) arrogant character. It was astonishing Guardiola let Vardy run riot several weeks ago.
Leicester just need to make some magic in Sevilla on a Wednesday night in February.
I've watched them a fair bit this year, and the old, lumbering center backs are old and lumbering. Demarai Gray is the real deal. Albrighton and Drinkwater are mostly reliable and creative. Mahrez's magicks are scarce. None of the summer transfers have been truly elite, certainly not Amartey trying to fill N'Golo's shoes in defense. (N'Golo is similarly solid on tackles and interceptions with Chelsea, and it's cool I guess he'll get to win the league twice in a row.)
Flipped on West Ham-Man U....ref seems to have it out for West Ham
Ibrahimovic (sp) clearly offsides, they still keep the goal....poor West Ham
What did West Ham do to that ref? lol
A third red for Fernandinho, in six games, has to be a sellable offense, right.
Maybe he survives January, but no way he makes it through the summer.
And I only caught the highlights of the West Ham/United game. I can see a referee saying that was a really reckless lunge, but I'm in a small minority it looks like.
And that Zlatan goal is lol. Man U getting away with all the offsides!
