Haven't been disappointed yet!
Also, dafuq is in your sig Ker?!
Finally got round to watching more stuff (that isn't immediately best) and this season is...eh?
Bloodivores looks like it could be interesting (what's with this company animating manhua?) but the animation in general is so terrible that it's really hard to watch. The story hasn't done much despite having 3 episodes either.
Occult;9 again, looks interesting but damn if there was nothing here of substance other than big tits that look...weird. I guess they explain that and honestly that's all I remember about it.
3-Gatsu no Lion now this is good shit. Lovely animation, style, sound and characters. Slow starter so far but looks to be a good drama. I wanna say it reminds me of Your Lie in April mostly cuz of how it looks but also in melancholy.
Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku is obviously Madoka without the Madoka but...unless there's something else happening it doesn't look to be nearly as interesting. Will keep a look out though.
Www.Working has grown on me. I didn't think I'd like a new cast but it's basically the same humour. Nothing new added so if you don't have need of light hearted laughs it doesn't matter.
Long Riders I thought was gonna be like Bakuon but it's not, it's boring. Maybe I'm being unfair because Yowamushi Pedal exists.
Shakunetsu no Takkyuu Musume has nice animation but holy shit are the MCs annoying. A shame because everything else is great except the MCs of the show. I hate when that happens. It's certainly no Ping-pong the animation, but if I can last a couple more episodes maybe the MCs will get less awful.
Trickster is an interesting show although not much has happened. Seemingly immortal guy wants to die and is kinda emo paired with his emotional opposite and they solve crimes...kinda. Some other stuff with 20 faces and overall it could be interesting. At the very least it's fun.
Fune wo Amu is another nice show like 3-gatsu, but about words rather than Shogi and making dictionaries. Yeah it sounds boring but it's kinda lively in spirit. Needs another episode to see where it's going since they barely just got the cast together and introduce new ones. Seems niche as hell but if you like character drama this is a contender.
All Out is what happens to the boys who couldn't make it into Jojo, other than that it's sports.
Flip Flappers has lovely animation but I'll be damned if everything else about it doesn't suck ass. From the characters to the story I don't know what they were thinking. I'll probably watch for the animation but holy shit does hearing COCONA yelled over and over again get grating. Might give it a couple more but probably not. Easily my biggest disappointment.
Watashi ga Motete Dousunda was about a fat fujoshi girl being a pervert but then she got skinny and shit turned to 99% of shoujo harems and was immediately less interesting 15 minutes into the first episode. Could've been different and charming but wasted.
Girlish Number is about voice actors with the only difference being the MC is a two-faced bitch (and I think people know it...kinda?) so it's entertaining to watch from that angle. Nothing else going on though, light comedy.
Yeah I've noticed that a lot of the shows this season are being really slow on development so even several episodes in it's still a wait and see. Which isn't a problem by itself... I don't mind taking time to set things up and really get into but some of these shows are only 12 episodes long and if you aren't even going to know what the hell is actually going on till half way thru the series can almost guarantee it's going to end up feeling rushed ending
Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku is still kind of eh. Might give it a few more episodes.
Because I was promised nsfw link and didn't get titties again!
The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show Season 3(Netflix)
Loved S3. I feel that there are not enough kids shows nowadays with that zany variety format, and this kinda scratches both the wacky cartoon and variety show ala PeeWee's Playhouse and Super mario Super Show itch. Also Season 3 animation was fantastic. If Dreamworks can do great 2D hybrid animation like this for the small screen, why not the big screen? Regardless, The Staff are clearly having fun creating all wacky situation(Ep5 was great with Japanese lore/Anime references like Doremon, giant robots and body switch) and I can't wait for Season 4.
flip flappers
this show is fucking crazy man
I'm only watching three shows this season, but Yuri!!! on Ice continues to be the funnest show of the season.
That and Haikyuu!! continues to bring the hype.
I wouldn't equate Mawaru Penguindrum to flip flappers at all.
MP has glacial pacing, flip flappers is balls out.
It's something like FLCL but crazier.
Asuka Senpai best Senpai. Yuri on Ice was fantastic today as well. Wednesday is the best day of the week this season.
Edit: The second time they've done the whole "character in a mental dark state/in the shadows pulled into the light when redeemed" visual. Not that I might, but something that has been used as a visual tool before
To Be Hero #4 made me a believer. And as always Sugita delivers.
Keijo 4 has got to be one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. The show has been amusing and silly until now but they really kicked it up a notch.
