I'd grab a $30 card and a relatively new card and call it a day. Not really gonna achieve stability otherwise probably. :<

Sure it sucks, but.. FFXI's age and lack of any effort to bring it to new hardware is showing. I've got a 1070 and reading this thread, I consider myself lucky not to have run into this stuff yet.

I used to 4box on a GTS250. It's hard to think back on those days, lol

Maybe run it in an emulated environment? Like setup some light linux distro in a virtual machine with direct hardware/3d access and get it running inside wine so it's no longer directx (is there wine for windows for this purpose yet? seems like a growing niche for old games). Burns extra space but it might be something (even a windows VM with hardware access might do something different).

I turned on compatibility mode and unloaded the FastCS addon (which uncaps framerate during cutscenes). No crashes since, but we'll see.

Jk, display driver crash. Temp was sub-70.

Edit: Trying the TdrDelay registry entry now.

No dice. Lasted much longer (~18 hours) but eventually crashed again (application has been blocked from accessing Graphics hardware).

Any luck fixing this issue? I'm having the same problem with the same card.. one of the dualbox account would become unresponsive upon login.
