Mandragoras: The Prince is light purple with a two-branched twig on top of its head. The King is dark purple with red eyes and a cone-shaped spike on top of its head. The Queen looks kinda like a mummy. The Captain has the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes head. The Star has the big gaping black holes for eyes and mouth. Each of the Mandragoras start the battle under the effect of Haste, which can be Dispelled.
Ahriman: Only Ahriman must be defeated to win. Ahriman cannot be hit by short ranged attacks while in Long Range mode (when he's at the back of the arena). The Clones are never long ranged.

    Commentary

Mateus begins the fight with Protect and Shell active. Mateus will always use Reflect on his first turn. Once Reflect is removed, Mateus will re-cast it 8 turns later. In Very Weak phase, Mateus will sometimes cast two spells per turn. Ice Azers will only cast Curada if Mateus is under 50% HP.

    Commentary

Ahriman does not receive Far Away status during this version of the fight and remains in melee range at all times. Ahriman's first action will always be to use Division. Upon entering Weak state, Ahriman will always use Don't Move-ga on its first turn, Division on its second turn, and a random action on its third turn, even if it has been reduced to less than 50% HP. Once its pre-determined Weak phase actions are completed and it has entered Very Weak state, Ahriman will use Maser Eye on its next available turn and then every Xth turn thereafter. If at any time in Weak phase one of the first two Clones are defeated, Ahriman will use Division on its next turn to summon a third Clone. If you can reduce Ahriman from 71% or higher HP to 50% or lower HP in between its turns, it will skip Don't Move and go straight to Very Weak state.
All the magic in this fight is vulnerable to Lure Magic/Sentinel/Runic; it's still single target Black Magic despite bypassing Reflect. It may be worthwhile to try and take advantage of that to reduce/eliminate the magical damage so you can focus on Maser Eye.

Event Quest Notes: There are two primary options for RW here: Shout or Runic/Indomitable Blade/Grand Cross. Shout gets you the offense you need and dispels the guaranteed full party Slow from phase 2, while Runic completely eliminates all magical damage from the fight. You can use Wall if you have Larsa's SSB for its hastega, or if you're bringing two white mages so that one can use the actual spell Haste to dispel the Slow.

25/130 chance: Blow of Anger (NAT: deal 344% physical damage to one target)

    Commentary
    • Daedalus always uses Haste on his first turn. On Daedalus's first turn after entering Weak phase (70% HP), he will use Wave Pulsar. On Daedalus's first turn after entering Very Weak phase (50% HP), he will use Rampage.

Note that Daedalus's Mind is extraordinarily high (806), so his Stop lasts for 22 seconds minus 1 second for each 50 Mind the target has. Even a fully synergy-equipped healer will likely be Stopped for more than a dozen seconds, and a non-healer will be essentially removed from the fight by a 20 second Stop. That's if they don't get killed outright, because Wave Pulsar is the single strongest non-gimmick attack I've seen in the game; 500% physical damage is beyond massive. Needless to say, you need to load up as heavily as you can against physical damage for this fight, but don't neglect magic defense because Piercing Darkra will still ruin any unprotected target. Lure Magic (either via the skill or a Sentinel style SB) comes in handy because you can equip your magic tank with the 6 star dark resistance accessory and make Darkra vastly less dangerous; it bypasses Reflect but it's still a Black Magic spell so it still gets drawn to Lure Magic/Runic.
Do note that none of Daedalus's attacks are long-range except Darkra, so if you have enough ranged weapons and characters to use them, putting everyone in the back row is ideal. Don't worry too much about Daedalus's initial Haste; bring a Banishing Strike if you have the spare slot for it, but his speed starts at 500 and goes up to 600 pretty quickly, so his Haste doesn't actually do a lot for him. Instead just focus on keeping him fully attack broken and yourself fully defense buffed at all times.

Mastered CM with full medals, but took me a while to figure this fight out as maser eye proved very painful

    Setup was:
    Spoiler: show

No SBs were used aside from RW

    Some observations/tips:
-The AoE slow at 70% appears to be auto-hit, not "225% chance" as stated in the OP, so slow resist accessories have no effect.
-Magic lure + gigas armlet on a RES stacked knight shuts down the magic pretty well. Everyone else should maximize DEF and dark resist for maser eye, and consider defending. My initial runs I was eating 5k+ from maser eye with protect and full break up until I geared defensively to reduce it to a much more manageable (but still very punishing) 3-4k.
-Maser eye appears to be used as the 4th action when the boss is below 50%. I could be wrong about this, but I never had it trigger right away, which was throwing me off when trying to time my defend to reduce the damage.

yeah i never got maser eye as an interrupt or anything. through dumb luck, i timed my ruin impendent cast perfectly and completely blanked it. i went with fran/basch/ashe/penelo/balthier, shout RW. gave ashe a shared shellga SB so penelo could keep magic dance up.

Ugh, Took a bit to get CM done. I'll master with an A team now. Did a setup very similar to Corwen's but Basch and Vaan were both 68 (I think) and I used SBs (Penelo SSB, Vaan SSB). Subbed Power Breakdown for TR and Dismissal for Northern Cross on Vaan. Basch got KOed after a Maser followed by Gabranth to magic. Whatever, it's done.

According to the AI posted on reddit after I posted this, the AoE slow is in fact auto-hit (meaning slow resist accessories don't matter at all), and maser eye is used on the third turn after dropping below 50% as well as every third turn after so bursting down the last 50% asap is definitely critical. Basch's phys blink SSB and curaga medicas would definitely be MVPs here if you have either.

The U++ also turned out to be surprisingly difficult for me. That 15-20 second stop is quite painful, and it took a run where it didn't land at all before I finally won.

I tossed Hope RW on Yshtola, brought Ramza, and had Mehnelo heal while Basch and Basch did work.

1/1 U+ CM with no medals lost. Super easy honestly, Maser Eye did like 1500-2k tops with Protectga, Power Breakdown, Full Break and Apocalypse Shield. He also went down super fast with Thief's Revenge, Saint Cross and Full Charge.

    Okay.

How in the hell is Pulsar Wave still dealing ~4k damage through Moogle Dance (RW-Full Breakdown), Pyroclasm (Power BD), Cleansing Strike, Wall, and Protect?

Yeah, had no issue with CM. U++ though, I can see a lot of people struggling with. Even with multiple stacking buffs/debuffs, he can still put out a lot of dmg. And stop you again and again and again and...
