Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi (D+) - Set 10 Years After Revenge of the Sith - May 27, 2022

    Old and out-dated information.

    Spoiler: show

    http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/n...n-2020-w441589
Disney announced that Lucasfilm will pump out a new anthology film set in George Lucas' galaxy far, far away by 2020, according to chief executive Bob Iger. Deadline reports that at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia conference, Iger said the scheduled film would form a trilogy with this December's Rogue One and the upcoming Han Solo spinoff film starring Alden Ehrenreich, all under the A Star Wars Story banner.

Latest clip shows Darth Vader on the scene, introduces the second coming of Han Solo, and more

Iger also said he does not expect the box-office receipts from Rogue One to hit the same highs that The Force Awakens reached last winter. Though Iger reassured that "the level of interest in [Rogue One] is as high as it was for Force Awakens." He added, "we love what we've seen."

Adding the anthology to the Star Wars schedule means that it'll be some time before any of us have to live in a lightsaber-less world. The Gareth Edwards-directed Rogue One arrives in December and Rian Johnson's to-be-titled Episode VIII will open in 2017. 2018 is reserved for Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's Han Solo project and 2019 belongs to Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow's Episode IX.

Iger has stated that he's already begun to speak with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy about plans for 2021 and beyond. (Deadline's report also mentions that Iger has taken similar meetings with higher-ups at Marvel Studios to prepare for the next decade.)

If they want it to be a sort of trilogy with Rogue One and young Han Solo, a middle aged Obi-wan movie would probably work. And fittingly enough, Ewan McGregor is 45 right now so he'd actually be a middle aged Obi-wan if they want to use him.

Ewan as Obi-Wan is the only choice.

I would love to see a film featuring non-humanoid aliens or droids.

There aren't really any alien species that are both established in the movies and interesting, though I imagine even if there were the studio wouldn't have the balls because "the audience won't be able to relate!"

    Would be cool though.

I mean there is also the rumor about a Boba Fett themed flick but I don't know, Lucasfilm has been trying to get that Boba Fett live action TV show launched since like 2005 with no luck.

^^ 100% Boba is the villain (and probably Jabba) in the Han Solo flick

+ Dengar, Bossk, and any of those other bounty hunters we've seen in ESB

Didn't want to start a new thread this early, but..
The Hollywood Reporter says that Stephen Daldry, the Oscar-nominated director behind Billy Elliott and The Hours, is in early talks to direct and developed a script about Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi. Ewan McGregor, however, is not yet attached.

Rey being a Kenobi would also be a pretty good reason to tie an Obi-wan movie into things.

That'd be some real tough story to pull off cause Obi-Wan was like 70 when he died and Rey was born like 20 years later.

Hell she could just be a niece or cousin however many times removed to avoid the Obi-Wan had a kid?! Complaints that would undoubtedly follow

No Ewan no curr. I'm sure it's just a matter of time though, considering he has openly said he's more then willing to do an Obi-wan movie.

That being said, I wouldn't be against some force ghost Liam Neeson either

An Obi Wan movie could skip around the timeline so much and show a ton of shit. I'd be down. It could be something completely different from how the other Star Wars movies were shot where it's a lot of him on tattoine cutting back to memories a bunch.
