@geno You're right on that, but given JJ Abrams is a producer, we may end up with some odd time continuum plot devices ala Lost. We'll see, but I expect to be saying "wat" a few dozen times throughout this series. I think the maze is going to end up being a "wat" moment like the hatch in Lost.

So is Arnold going to end up being
    Spoiler: show
the ghost in the machine, the one causing the hosts to go haywire? I know they said it was the reveries causing it but that seems too simple.

Also, I loved seeing a younger Hopkins. Kinda freaky, but good.

    I found this comment interesting
    Spoiler: show
Arnold's code is most likely fractal. Most AI programming is based on recursive structures, the idea being you get a great deal of compression, the more memory you can supply the code the more intelligent it is. Fractal geometry is even more powerful than recursion, it branches and expands more. I would bet that in order for Arnold's consciousness code to fully realize it needs two things, a massive amount of memory and a large number of experiences. Arnold's code has likely reached critical mass.

This show reminds me of Dollhouse. A lot... Except with good acting.

Also, why is the Westworld logo so similar to the Weyland Corp logo from the Alien universe
I'm expecting Ripley to come out of nowhere

Two timelines are being presented simultaneously. William (Jimmi Simpson) is the Man in Black; his youthful first foray in the park with Logan that we see is 30 years prior and near the "incident" which has been referenced a few times. The other scenes we see are 30 years later.
The last few moments of episode 3 support this because
    Spoiler: show
Delores experiences the scene at her farm jumping from present to past memory in that order. She gets shot in the present but remembers getting away in the past and meeting William

I watched the original Westworld film last night. I was expecting something a little deeper than what I got for some reason (probably based on the feel of the show), but there's not much you can do in 88 minutes. The movie is very 70's in terms of straightforwardness, but there's some kind of cool things that Crichton worked into the script (he both wrote and directed it). Yul Brynner's man in black is certainly reminiscent of Ed Harris' and was sufficiently threatening, but there's certainly more of a purpose there. There was also some interaction with Roman World and Medieval World; I'm hoping those both end up playing into the show's storyline somehow.

Ed Brubaker co-wrote tonight's episode. It was awesome as one would expect if you know his writing.

Yeah that was a stellar episode. I feel like they could get away with slow playing this way more, but have done a good job pushing the plot forward nicely.

Saw from the end credits that Ed Brubaker is one of the writers for this show. That explains alot about why I've been enjoying it.

I loved the scene between Anthony Hopkins and that director lady, so tense

When they all stopped at his finger movement. Fuck yeah. Hopkins is so good at being in control.

In control and menacing. He's excellent at portraying characters who seem like they could go from discussing philosophy to lunging at you with their teeth in a split second.

Yeah. He actually scares me. I wouldn't want to meet him.

I'd love to see Hopkins in a goofy comedy role. Shit would be jokes.
