I think you're thinking too much in to it. When Dolores is suddenly alone, it's probably more to do with her "emotional" state. All of those scenes she's barely moving and/or talking to herself/Arnold. So it most likely has to do with showing her as being lost in thought/in her own programming, than timeliness issues and retracing her own steps.

Also, I am starting to wonder about Bernard being a physical copy of Arnold, and the conversations between "Bernard" and Delores where he is dressed in all black in a basement somewhere is actually Arnold and those conversations are from 34 years ago.

Ooo I like that one. I've going with the idea that the "backstage" stuff is kind of operating under its own random timeframe (with everything inside the park itself in realtime) and that would certainly work under that assumption.

Either way, I'm sure Arnold is somewhere. Probably as a virus, worm, subroutine or a "collective conscious" among all of the hosts.

I will say this, aside from playing with our expectations about Teddy in the first episode, I don't think this show is lying or will lie to the audience about who is or isn't a host. This isn't Battlestar Galactica where the big themes were paranoia and desperation and survival. The big theme of this show is, I think, best summed up by a quote from an episode of Star Trek where a trial is being held to decide whether Data has the right to refuse to be dismantled in order to build more androids.

A single Data is a curiosity, a wonder even, but thousands? Isn't that becoming... a race? And won't we be judged by how we treat that race?

I wonder if the maze itself is simply the control compound that is up on the top of that mesa that we've seen a few times. It's like Arnold sprinkled a hidden quest in Westworld to test the hosts AI to get to the control compound from within the narrative. I've also heard that the maze symbol is just a representation of the AI brain with a person in the middle...basically transferring consciousness to a host.

Also, there is something that is bothering the hell out of me...just could be a continuity error or something else. Bernards shirts appear different when he is talking to Delores alone towards the end of episode 3. When he arrives it is a black jacket zipped with a blue collar shirt underneath. When he leaves, his jacket is unzipped and the color of his collar shirt is now black.
