The scariest thing though is that Kesler was allowed to return to the game. Proof the NHL, and sports leagues in general, still don't 'get it' in regards to player safety. Symptoms don't always manifest right away, a player can pass a dark room half assed test or even clear a baseline evaluation 5 minutes after the hit but have swelling occur the next 24 hours and begin to bring the symptoms.
