Unfortunate timing in my opinion. I think he was trying to hit shoulder to shoulder but Daniel shot the puck and rotated at the same time.

I fully expect he's gonna sit a couple games but I don't think he meant to hit him like that.

Also the spear from Burrows on Rielly was dangerous as fuck too.

Bruh, when you hit someone and helmet goes flying off while you're still in contact from the hit, thats a dirty as fuck hit.

Kadri pretty clearly hit him in the head. There are two hurdles you have to clear to call it dirty (or at least suspendable) in my opinion. Did he hit him in the head? Yep. Was the principle point of contact Daniel's head? Based on a couple different angles (including the still Kypreos showed on HNIC), maybe not. Am I gonna call that a dirty hit? No. To me, Kadri was pretty clearly intending to hit him shoulder to shoulder but the act of shooting moved Daniel into an unfortunate position and Kadri was already committed.

The league doesn't give a single fuck whether the player was blindsided or not. All the league cares about is whether or not the principle point of contact was the head. I won't be surprised if Kadri sits a couple games, but I won't be at all surprised if he doesn't, either. He has to play with that kind of edge. Sometimes bad shit happens.

from one angle it looked like he got all head but it's a bad angle, the other looks like he hit shoulder/side of body and then contacted the head on the follow through. Helmet flying off just means he hit him hard, has nothing to do with where he hit, or if it was "dirty".

I've had a bit of a ridiculous last couple days. Didn't even have time to watch the game today, let alone highlights. It's 1am and I'm in the process of converting video files to send to my agent. Oh, and I still have to pack for my flight tomorrow at 9am +_+

Seeing a loooooot of media people on twitter trying to explain away that hit using the same excuses here. Media in Vancouver are seething over the hit but are expecting the league to not give Kadri anything which is kinda brutal.

You don't seem to understand the contact was to the body/shoulder and only because Daniel Sedin wilted like a wet noodle, was there possibly contact to the head. "Chicken Wing" elbows are usually players clearly targeting the head.
