With Heavensward, him promoting Dark Knight was obvious enough with the Batman shirt. But what was the link between 007 and Machinist? He never hinted Astrologian either, did he?

They've always used the kanji 侍
I just googled it and apparently it actually was hinting Astrologian. 007 = Casino Royale = they played with cards the majority of the movie = Astrologian uses Cards. Supposedly that was it anyway.
Edit: Welp, someone else on reddit said something along the lines of 007 using gadgets and Machinist being a tinkerer of machines kind of goes in line with it too.
So TL;DR, I have no idea but it's not like it matters =/
Maybe it was both lol
In case it hasn't been posted already, some HQ pics from the Stormblood panel

Edit: And in case it hasn't been noticed/speculated already, the "Return to Ivalice" logo has all the Zodiac summon signs as part of the logo
I am down for the FFT fan service.
FFT... delicious...
I mean, its not like I'm a fan or anything. No one could tell that in any way, shape or form.
Stocking up for exp dungeons is pretty much a waste of time. You can craft any LV50-59 gear you need with a welfare-geared LV60 crafter and retainer-gathered mats.
The XI version wouldn't even make sense in this game.
In XI, everyday mobs did important moves that you cared about, from Bomb Toss to Screwdriver to Dimensional Death to 1000 Needles. In this game, you simply don't care about 99% of the moves that mobs do... you just move out of the yellow AoE marker. And then you have the bosses that have a dozen different moves, the majority of which are either unavoidable or will wipe you if you don't dodge them.
Seriously, what enemy moves would people be excited to learn in this game... Petrifaction that doesn't work? Bad Breath that doesn't work? Ram's Voice/Dragon's Voice? I have a hard time even thinking of any other abilities that normal mobs do in this game, because they are so mightily irrelevant.
Yeah, I'm not really buying this Sam Raimi connection tbh. It's way too obscure compared to previous hints he dropped.
Compared to Batman>Dark Knight, Scarlet Witch>Red Mage and 007>Machinist at least. The Machinist hint is possibly more elaborate but they didn't pick a random movie director name that happens to have similarities with the job's name in japanese.
Well.. Red Mage did have that ability to basically spider web themselves to the enemy. As much as I want Samurai, I hate to admit it but they probably aren't going to reveal all of their cards in one day, next big event will be next job reveal, and so on.
Oh they won't reveal a new job until the next fanfest but the hint is not about Red Mage.
Do these devs even speak English fluent? I would probably question their pronunciation of Sam Raimi. It's gotta be Samurai. Really doubt they are going to add some web slinging class in the game and ignore the damn class they have been hinting at subtly and not so subtly. After SAM he will be wearing a Lord of the Dance T-Shirt.
Was watching the piano concert. Soken hinted at something earlier in the night and the whole time I'm just like... "I'm gonna shit if he comes out on stage with an Otamatone"
The man played Ravana's theme on Otamatone and 6 taped together recorders.
GARO got me hyped.
I mean...Spiderman doesn't really strike me as a connection to BLU. A more obvious choice would be if he wore a Taskmaster or a Rogue shirt.
Taskmaster has no known superhuman powers. However, with the help of the Albino, Taskmaster briefly had the ability to mimic other peoples powers by studying them. This power ended up only being temporary due to the process being interrupted by Hawkeye, Firestar, and Justice.
Abilities
Taskmaster possesses photographic reflexes, which enables him to watch another person’s physical movements and duplicate them without practice, no matter how complex. This ability is only limited by the fact that he does not possess superhuman strength or other superhuman attributes.
Also, Bend of Time reminds me a lot of Chrono Cross's extra content area where you fight bosses from Chrono Trigger.
Let's not forget when SE teased BLU for XI, they used the Spider Web move that they never actually learned. So, Yoshi could potentially be dipping back into that reference.
I will agree, however, that XIV does not bode well for a type of BLU we know from XI or preceding games. And even in remembering XI, there were a whole lot of spells that were useless. This isn't to say XIV can't make it work, but we might not like the path they take to create a functional (and potentially versatile) job.
Seems like the spider-man tease is a stretch no matter which way you go with it. I'm inclined to lean towards samurai just because Japanese sure love their wordplay.
