The new Stormblood Themesong from Susan Calloway called "Revolutions". It shows allot of Cut Scenes from Stormblood, so there may be spoilers.
Yeah, I feel like some people will freak out about the spoilers, dunno why they even show some of that stuff instead of letting you enjoy the surprise in game.
Song is completely unmemorable to me. Loving Lyse's new look though

I like the song. It's more restrained and military-ish, good for the setting this time.
And wtf in that video

uh that song isnt catching my interest at all. Doesnt sound very good/catchy to me
Seems to confirm early suspicions that Alisaie is a red mage. Would be interesting if she's the genesis of the class for us
FF Type-0 has some stupid good music in it. I need to get that OST, actually.
I actually like the song after listening to it a few times.
I would STRONGLY prefer Utakata because the main song of an expansion always becomes a lietmotif for many other battle themes across the expansion, and I'd probably do an honest nickel to play through an xpac with a bunch of remixed versions of the refrain of Utakata. That woman's vocal chords were kissed by the gods themselves.
I get the whole March/Anthem feel it's going for with lyrics, but I can see the usual communities saying it's the best thing ever as the general consensus. As for the trailer stuff..eh. I'm more interested in seeing what the raids and ex primals have to offer since I'm not really invested into the story like I was 1.x > 2.x since the raids wove into it nicely. Idk though, maybe the game not changing up in 4.0 doesn't hype me much like the 'promise' of 3.0 did, it's a nice song for what it is but there's no impact.
didn't like the song at all. felt very....unFF? totally unmemorable. It feels partly like it's not even on the right key for susan's voice, there's no real emotion behind it. heck, i can't even understand the lyrics, which is weird because dragonsong and answers were very easy to understand.
i'm not saying its BAD, just....meh. for something that's a freaking theme song it absolutely needs to be memorable, easy to understand, and have an impact. i feel like this song was supposed to be a soldier reflecting on war but it doesn't carry any feeling of despair or anguish or anything.
Song is fitting for the theme. Sounds like a theme that embodies the idea of having a revolution,. Though the very first listen will throw you off after Answers & Heavensward -- we are so used to having somber melodies, that something more upbeat like this will just have that effect.
I feel the visuals and cutscenes basically gave away the entire plot however.
I don't think it gave away anything? Maybe I'm just bad at reading into stuff. Well, all the characters in the video have already been introduced in the last Live Letter. If you made any assumptions at all about what their role and characterization in the story would be, then nothing in the video should come as a surprise. It's exactly what I expected, but that doesn't mean they aren't holding surprise plot developments to be unfolded in the game. And certainly we have seen nothing of the patches to come.
I'm not saying it's gonna be good. The writing has had some highs and lows but generally been mediocre throughout ARR and HW. SB will likely be the same.
But there generally are at least enough surprises to speculate about in each expansion. This one will be no different.
Unless it's only 2-3 cutscenes broken up to make the video, it gave away the entire "main" story of 4.0, obviously excluding pointless dialog "cutscenes' in between them that tells us to go kill 5 of x mobs. So you're not bad at reading into it, it's like how movie trailers these days give away...basically everything worth while to see.
I'm not really agreeing that it gave away much, because there usually isn't much anyway. The story isn't ever bad, per say, but the plot twist is always that someone dies. No one died in the CS snippets we've seen, so they haven't "spoiled" anything. We knew who the villains were going in from that press write-up: we knew about the highlander chick who doesn't know what side to be on; we knew about the sadistic empire chick obsessed with grinding people under her foot, and we knew about the emperor having an obsession with tachi and katana.
I'm not seeing a problem, personally. Would you rather they have spoiled the equivalent of whatever 4.0's version of moogle quest-grinding is going be? Ugh.
