Game goes live at 12am est, or at least that's when the timer ends on the preload.
3.3GB day one patch for PS4, 3.2GB for XB1.
Four missable trophies; estimated 200+ hours to achieve platinum. Several trophies are tied to RDR Online so nobody is gonna have platinum for a while.
Goddammit, it's a survival game. It has hunger mechanics very similar to the GTA: San Andreas on PS2. Being overweight affects stamina and underweight affects health. If you're too hot or too cold, you lose health.
Made it to the start of chapter 2 before I had to call it a night. Chapter 1 sucks and is extremely slow to start imo. I get it, it’s the tutorial chapter, but damn it I’ve been waiting 8 years for this sequel I just wanted to jump right in the open world.
Waiting for Red Box to get this on the 5th, but from what I've seen so far in streams it looks pretty tight.
Knee deep into Chapter 2 and its pretty tight. Gun Controls are pretty awful and sometimes the horse is a little finnicky when you try to hitch it but most everything else has been solid.
Watched Sterling's short take on his game play and game looks like a blast. He griped about how at times the game is too immersive, which I get, but that's a plus to me. Hope the PC release isn't too far out.
When is multiplayer online going to be available for this?
Beta in November I believe.
I'm annoyed when you call your horse over to load it up with carcasses from a hunt and you go back for more kills, it follows you scaring away all of the game. Also, the in-game camera won't let you snap photos of bugs & glitches. During chapter 2 you have a guy tied to a tree, but sometimes they glitch backwards, can't take no pictures of that.
Pretty sure there was a tool tip that said you can tell your horse to stay or flee as well. Or does that not work once it has a carcass?
LENNYYYYYYY is definitely about to become a meme.
Beginner tip, if you want to unlock fast travel you first need to upgrade Dutch’s tent twice in the camp ledger. Also, if you think you can be slick by taking a stagecoach or a train—surprise, your horse doesn’t follow you. So don’t get yourself stranded.
I shot a deer with my bow & arrow and it didn’t die immediately, but laid there bleeding out and bleating. I wasn’t ready for that.
Came across that in chapter 1. I was disappointed when I created the same situation with a wild horse, but instead of giving me the option to kill, it wanted me to revive.
For whatever reason, wild horses take targeting priority over deer when they're grouped.
I love the hit detection in this game.
I took a trip on the train and went for the most expensive destination from Valentine, which is St Dennis, and came across a choice encounter to the north of the city. Woof... if I had a weak stomach, I don't think I could watch this. NSFL

The reason that I am running in this clip is because I didn't have my horse from taking such a long trip, but it turns out that your horse will run all the way across the map to you. Valentine to Dennis is about a ~20 minute ride.
There is this lingering sense of dread I have playing through this knowing how it all ends up for Marston, Dutch, and all the rest.
