I'm happy the Warriors snagged Matt Barnes after the Kings dogged him, he's no Durant but I've always liked his role.

that's a lot of "ifs" but yeah, makes sense to take a flier on him and see if he can develop

I'm still curious to see if pure post-up bigs have a place (or exist at all) in the coming years

though not yet very effective i think his post game is very promising, like his footwork and he has a nice touch around the basket.

but mostly he's potential. kid's only 22 and has never gotten serious runtime in Denver, never averaged even 18 minutes. if he can continue the improvements in offensive efficiency (jumped from 45% to 51% from the field) and develop into a plus defender his size is going to make him into a p serious force down low. and the 5 is still the one NBA position where shooting is not required.

yeh i've been a Nurk fangirl since his rookie year (and those numbers came against Jahlil Okafor) but i never thought he'd be this good this quickly. his playmaking out of the high post especially has impressed, he's 20-10-5-2 over the last five, and Portland looks like a different team with him in there. already better than Mason Plumlee, younger, somehow the Blazers got Denver to throw in a first rounder. 211.
