going to be wild when Golden State trades McCaw for Paul George lol
It's a shame McCaw isn't signed for longer. He's gonna be due for a solid payday after next season that the Dubs likely won't be able to front.
as long as there are gm's out there willing to rent and try and change his mind, he'll still have some more value than the bare minimum the lakers can offer. houston/dallas gms in the past have specifically said they'd be willing to risk renting out guys thinking they could convince them. doc rivers, for all his obliviousness, would 100% be willing to try the same. moving a jordan for a PG might actually be really smart anyway as the clips tick off a lot of things for him: a competitive team with other stars, it's LA, it's his favorite team of his childhood, and the clout of the logo can't hurt.
there are also the rumors of lebron to LA as well, so if PG's already there and lebron wants to come over, that's possibly a thing too. farfetched, but a thing.

Sense from teams talking to IND is that Pacers intend to move fast on a PG deal.
We need to have an offseason thread
Interesting, looks like Philly giving up less than we first thought!
I almost feel like Boston cant lose this way. The #1 and #3 picks are both great.
The Josh Jackson hype is strong.
oh good Durant gonna opt out and re-sign for less money so warriors can keep the band together. that is just wonderful. oh great that is so great.
shrug, whatever. think they're gonna lose iggy because he wants a big payday and someone will be stupid enough to give him 20m a year.
also both minny/cavs are poking around jimmy butler. i could see chicago wanting to take love back because butler's been a gigantic headache for them and not a great fit with rondo/wade, whereas love works. i think butler would give the cavs more balance as well, allowing thompson to start and having better defense overall.
Kevin O'Connor @KevinOConnorNBA
We just learned in a five minute period that the Wolves, Suns, and Cavaliers are all going for Jimmy Butler. The NBA is bananas. I love it.
hmm, the suns
that's interesting. how's that even make sense for them with booker in tow
Jimmy's 6' 7" and 230, he might not love it but he can handle most 3s no problem. small forward is where he was for most of the season with Rondo and Wade starting.
we'll see, but Butler is such a good defender and he's improved his shooting and playmaking so drastically i think he'd fit in p much anywhere.
Eh. Outside of basketball he's super embedded into the area and silicon valley in particular. That plus the much higher chances of another ring could keep him in area.
I think Livingston is for sure gone, and I'd imagine the Dubs will be working with a whole new crop of Centers for next season. Hopefully they can retain Javale on the cheap, then find some other veterans willing to chase rings.
If Boston has committed to paying IT, then there's no real reason to hold onto the #1 for Fultz when you can get value and a prospect at another position.
Also a very good chance the Lakers pass on Jackson. Supposedly the workout with him went badly. Could be him not wanting to play there?
