he's what makes the starters so good on defense though. team pretty much transformed itself last season once they inserted luc richard into the starting lineup. ended up at top 6 ortg/drtg with paul pierce's corpse taking blake's spot at starting PF, too.
so put blake back in pierce for this season (and he was actually a pretty good defender to start last year before injury) then all of a sudden i think any improvements should not only be rational but also pretty substantial. and it seems that's where the team's at now, with a big bump in its ceiling.
also if it were up to me i'd try to get wes johnson up to speed as the starter. or i would have gotten matt barnes back (who's balling in sacramento). or in hindsight tried harder to sign james ennis who inked with memphis for 2/6 and is the exact kind of player the clips would love as a starter. but it's pretty tough to complain about prince luc when he is such a great defensive glue guy. we'll see how much a weakness he is in the playoffs, though, when teams start leaving him completely wide open.
