I still need to play the first one. I bought it and played a bit but then got distracted. I hear the battle system gets fairly involved and very reminiscent of the older FF games.
I've played the first one front to back I think 3 times? It's pretty good. If you like FF5s job crystals, you'll dig it. I do recommend looking up specific job abilities and combos though, you can get really fucked later on if you invest in bad jobs since you only get so many Moogle Coins(Raise max level of a job) until post game.
The biggest problem I had with it is the lack of a run speed. You constantly walk at what feels like a slow mosey.
game is ass. basically take the gacha out of the gacha, sprinkle what youd normally get from the gacha throughout the game, strip away the social system, put on a $15 price tag and sell your game as what is effectively record keeper without any future content. there's no exploration or NPCs or anything, you just enter battles from a list and thats it. like i said, a gacha without the gacha; aka a low budget, low effort battle gauntlet with a boring, forgettable story attached. give this thing a hard pass or just DL the APK from 3rd party sites.
First one was so dope for a phone game (tho the price scared a lot of people off).
This just looks so fucking bad, my god.
This was originally a gacha game but they ended service not too long ago on the jp side to make it a SP standalone game. Plus it has nothing to do with D1 at all anyways so it feels like a waste of time.
Major components of the story were taken from original Chrono Break storyline (3rd Chrono Series Game)

It probably is, because Chrono Break was a myth
