But.
Trump campaign officials meet with Russian ambassador at the RNC, which was from July 18th - July 21st. Then they specifically intervene in the Republican party platform to soften language about helping Ukraine against Russian aggression.
Literally the day after the RNC ends, July 22nd, Wikileaks begins publishing emails the Russians hacked from the DNC.
