Two, wealth doesn't necessarily mean anything to the working class if they don't see any of it. After the global economic collapse in 2008 employers shed millions of jobs and even when all of their profits recovered (and now hit record levels) they still kept hiring low and wages stagnant because the massive layoffs had the effect of making people grateful to just have a job. It's been the go-to for "job creators" since time immemorial.

If Trump solves the problem of employers continually increasing profits by slashing employees, salaries, and benefits, then he's a top tier President but since he makes profit by not paying employees at all idk.

not to be smart but do you understand the concept of a bubble? the stock market is presently grossly overvalued relative to hard underlying economic indicators such as market cap/GDP and price-earnings ratio.

we either require drastic and sustained economic growth in excess of growing market valuation to recalibrate to a more realistic level, or, more plausibly, a market correction. were i on Trump's economic team the increasing valuation of the stock market would be extremely worrying, not a point of pride. Secretary Mnuchin at least seems to recognize it but I'm unsure how much sway he has in the administration.

The historic markers I'm most worried about are mimicking the post-Jacksonian depression. I'm far from feeling happy about the current economic state of things, and it's going to take an uncomfortable correction to avoid a devastating crash. I think President Obama may have had the chops to get that done, but doing so would have been political suicide for the Democratic party, and Party > Country (especially since most loyalists believe their way is the only right way for the country... I put that on the R, too). I have little to no hope that President Trump could manage it, even if he recognized the need. An economic crash coupled with the current social and political unrest is a recipe for Very Bad Things.
