No that was the scene and it was definitely in episode 9. I agree that it had a purpose but it kinda comes out of nowhere and it can definitely fuck up the night for some, so figured a warning might be helpful. The whole season tackles sexual abuse and sex trafficking fairly well and it can be very depressing at times. But I also liked how there is justice for some of the victims.
ok finished. I gotta say this was fantastic. The sister plot was a bit of a meh but to me the show is still 10/10. I'm really damn impressed with what netflix achieved here. Cinematography was of the charts for me and the action scenes were great (no fucking shaky cam OMG!). Loved all the implications of technology and the fact that they din't shy away from nudity, brutality, and all that uncomfortable things was great. When I watch the Marvel shows I always keep thinking this whole season could be done in 7 episodes instead of 13. In this chase I think the show could've used another 3 episodes.
This ad for the show god damn

Just finished this and I liked it. Like others said it was really stiff at times.
The best scene in the show was defiantly(I've never done a spoiler tag before, hope this works)
Spoiler: show
poe had by far the most personality. ironic for an AI i guess but hey what can you do
Asian Kovacs was pretty good too.
that guy is always a badass, he is just a boss ass motherfucker
I need to channel Macross here and just say how fucking thankful I am that after all these years I get confirmation that Priya from Dollhouse is as A+ as I always thought.
Gotta give Dichen Lachman a lot of credit for being willing to do that scene in episode 8. Had to take serious courage.
I just want them to hurry up and confirm a season 2. I'm ready for John Cho to take his rightful place as an action star! Or maybe the guy from the fast and furious's who was smashing wonder woman
the world really does lend itself to a revolving door of famous people dropping in as the main sleeve for one season then leaving
So, we're pitching cyberpunk Doctor Who?
I'd watch it.
Books are reallll good so far too.
Finished it last night and I wanna echo this. I fucking loved it start to finish. I hesitated on the last two episodes because I didn't want it to end, which is something I haven't felt since I got near the end of the Witcher 3. Netflix has been a real heavy hitter lately with their catalog. I've never had a lapse in service since I started subbing years ago. There were some slow points where it was mostly just my family using my account but god damn it feels good knowing my bucks were going to something like Altered Carbon.
Also keep an eye out for Mute. It comes out later this month and is also Cyberpunk-esque.
Edit: If the books are actually good i'll pick them up.
