That's disappointing, he was solid in this.
I wouldn't mind if the asian guy came back to play him

Spoiler: show
I never expected him back for s2 since he gave up the sleeve. Did they ever release the budget on this? Would have way more hype if Netflix didn’t blow their load on cloverfield the same damn weekend.
If Marco Polo could get a s2 this should be a lock

' But when pressed for an actual number, Kalogridis remains tight-lipped — though she did emit a hearty guffaw when pressed that some estimates have the series costing more than $7 million an episode. "That number is really funny," she says with a laugh. "I feel comfortable saying that that number is not correct." But is it wildly incorrect? "I would say it's inaccurate." '
no idea. but, the screenwriter (above) was a producer for Avatar, and did the screenplay for Battle Angel: Alita which gives me some hope for that hot mess.
but, they also did some reaaaaal shit work along the way, so i ain't holding my breath.
Even if all 100 million subscribers only had the cheapest plan (9.99) which they don't (I pay 14.99 just to have to 4k content and share with family) they make a billion a month. A billion. They gross 12 billion a year. They spend between 7-8 billion on content a year. I'd say they are doing fine even if every episode did cost 7 million. Now 50 million for Cloverfield, you won't hear me defend that decision though lol
Just finished season 1. This shit was so legit. Didn't know this was a book series before I watched it so now I'm gonna dig into them.

Season 2 will be book 2 (should it be renewed) and will be even more expensive to produce. Season 1 was tweaked to contain elements from Book 3.
yeah there was a lot more of Quell in the show than in book 1.
Concur.
May as well start promoting this now.
There is an audio book of the first novel and Amazon Audible has all 3.
So I just binged the series. I have never read the books. Spoilers obviously so click at your own risk.
Spoiler: show
All told, start to finish, this show was fantastic. It's just another disconnect between the so called professional reviewers and the actual viewing public.
I stopped after the fourth episode. Characters aren't interesting and the plot just wasn't drawing me in.
