I honestly liked RE 4, 5 was okish, loved 6 and 7 plus the Revelations spin offs <_<
That would be a silly statement for me to make. Street Fighter II is the single most significant game I've ever played by a wide margin, and it's sequels/spinoffs have had a bigger impact on my life than any other entertainment media. Most of my best friends IRL are people I met through SF2 and the later FGC.
The idea that Capcom Used To Be Good But Is Terrible Now is just the same tired rose-colored glasses tripe that every group of people says about the way things used to be. Objectively, Capcom is doing more to support the FGC than they have ever done, and more than any of their fighting-game-producing peers do. It is neither an accident nor a global conspiracy that the fighting game of each generation with the largest and most enduring tournament scenes - from HF to ST to A2/3 to MVC2 to SF4 to SF5 - is made by Capcom.
That's not to say that Capcom doesn't make mistakes or produce games with flaws. They absolutely do. But the games from the "golden age" (whatever the reader considers that to be) also have flaws. Overall, looking at the quality of the games AND the amount of official support for the community, it's pretty hard to argue that things are not better now than at any point in the past. Netcode is better than it's ever been, there are huge majors all around the country (and the world) with enormous prizes, and we have multiple games being broadcast on TV. The Eeyore brigade is tiring.
Bored watching Maximillian and this shit just happened by the AI lmao!

I think we can criticize Capcom as a developer separately than the Capcom who writes checks to promote their game as part of marketing. Especially when its likely said checks are why we don't see multiple mainline Street Fighter titles at big events like the past.
Putting this here since it covers many fighting games, though some non fighters as well:
Massive leak posted to r/Kappa. Same person to correctly guess Enchantress/TMNT in Injustice.

I'm incredibly skeptical of the validity of this; a LOT seems like wishful thinking and asspulls. The Capcom "leaks" would potentially turn both games around, but I can't see them tossing this much money and effort after those games bombed fantastically at this point. I don't know. Mainly posting this to have a discussion about it. I'm not buying this leak.
Hopeful for the DMC5 thing, though.
No way in hell would Capcom give away free characters.
I would like him to be right tho, Devil May Cry 5 and Soul Calibur VI would make me a happy man.
They can't toss that much money around bc they probably don't HAVE it. that'd involve their games actually selling, so I don't see how that'd work out. Even if he was right about one thing, doesn't mean he'll be auto-right on the rest. If he is tho, props to him.
On a related subject, MVCI shipped 900k copies in the first 7 weeks, though how many of those have converted to sales is unstated. For comparison, UMVC3 had 600k sales after about 11 weeks.
Additionally, SF5 is up to 1.9m sales, which puts it at a tie with SSF4, behind vanilla SF4 at 3.4m sales.
In the case of games and pretty much most manufacturers, shipped = sales. Capcom already sold the games to the retailers and made their money but whether the retailers get those 900k copies in a customer's hands is usually up in the air.
Most of that stuff isn't really going to happen anytime soon; it's stuff that's going to happen yearly or years from now so they might get the money by then, who knows. We still don't know how successful their season pass and 58th Chun Li costume have faired either unless there's been a report I haven't seen yet. Some of that shit would actually be in Capcom's best interest to announce to players (input lag fixes) so people aren't constantly wondering if it'll ever get looked at again.
Did they ever talk about actually making the gameplay fun for SF5:AE? Because I hope they know that THAT's actually SF5's number 1 problem. Not all these bullshit issues such as ugly UI, ugly character faces, no arcade modes, etc., etc., I struggle to believe real fighting game fans actually give a fuck about such frivolous issues.
Make the game actually fun to play, or actually interesting to spectate. That's been SF5's flaw since beta.
They can add every character in the history of Capcom games to SFV, and it will still be unplayable garbage, until they fix the core gameplay. And MVCI didn't come close to actually selling those 900k hard copies. I bet they don't even another print for the rest of the game's life lmao.
Capcom still saw the profit from those units.
Iirc the same thing happened with V, with units just sitting on the shelves for ages because Capcom and retailers grossly overestimated initial sales.
Of course, they saw profit; they spent like $7.98 making that garbage.
DBFZ is so fucking well made...
and so boring tbh. It's pretty, and flashy, and every character is doing the same fucking combo. zzzz. and apparently if (and they are) leaks are true, it's getting ANOTHER Goku and Vegeta (base form this time) + Broly and Bardock (who basically looks like another Goku) so there's that, and apparently they're gonna be DLC that's been done for a long time.
good shit, gg.
Been saying that shit since day one. All the characters look and seem to play the exact same way, but it gets extra brownie points because it's the r/kappa savior to rescue them from capcom.
and because unlike MVCI, it looks like they cared about how it looked. still don't change the fact that SonicFox hit PL with the same 16 combo like 10 times in a row and nothing changed. literally nothing, lol. i've been saying it too that as much as I want this game to be OD, I feel like the shit just looks the same no matter who you use with just minor tweaks in later characters that are shown off (yamcha, tien, ginyu, etc)
HOLY SHIT NOCTIS!
