A television adaptation of The Last of Us, the post-apocalyptic survival franchise from PlayStation studio Naughty Dog, is in the works at HBO, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

The project is intended to be a TV series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It is being led by Craig Mazin, who previously worked with HBO on the acclaimed 2019 miniseries Chernobyl and is writing the upcoming Borderlands movie. Mazin will team up with Naughty Dog vice president Neil Druckmann, co-director and writer of both The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part 2, to write and executive-produce the TV show.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has some bad news for the gaming community today. Due to the global pandemic crisis, SIE has decided to indefinitely delay both The Last of Us Part II and Iron Man VR.

The launch for these two games is officially delayed “until further notice,” so for now we can’t expect to see a new release date. Specifically, SIE stated that “logistically, the global crisis is preventing us from providing the launch experience our players deserve.”

Same. I'm hearing conspiracies that it'll be a PS5 title as well since "XBOX series X has more to offer at launch" lol

I would think that TLOU2 was always intended to be a PS5 launch title, and any meaningful PS4 release would be the cherry on top. All COVID is doing is letting them push it back without much PR backlash because its for the good of everyone.

Exactly. It won't be PS5 exclusive, but they'll market it as "made for PS5" with the PS4 version being the inferior downgrade.

I wouldn't be surprised if we find out at some point that development even began on PS5 dev kits instead of PS4.

I would think so. Although if they come out at the same time, that would be sufficient incentive for me to pull the trigger on a PS5 (I'll be getting one eventually anyway). Or even if PS4 comes out in September and PS5 in December, I can wait a couple of extra months.

With the quality of the assets as they already are, it could just be an exercise for Sony to show that they can do cross-gen releases. A PS4 game that can also run natively on PS5 utilizing the bump in hardware, vs. just BC mode. Just do a reprint of the case to show PS4+PS5 when the PS5 officially launches or something, and patch it for existing owners.

Major plot have leaked from the game(full scenes). If you hate spoilers avoid twitter that involves anything last of us or game related. The 4chan leaks from a while back are also 100% real. Avoid those if you can.
