Noles next year start the season with a game against 'Bama in Atlanta, welcome the Heisman trophy winner and Louisville, and travel to the defending national champions in Clemson. Gonna be a tough year.
I wouldn't really say the SEC is falling off hard, more that the West/East balance may finally be equalizing a little bit.
Obviously you can't say Bama has peaked either, with this being little more than a blip concerning their recent record. LSU can go either way, as that 'Interim Coach' high will wear off. Arkansas looked good in the 2nd half of the season. A&M will always be that 8-9 win thorn in someones side.
But on the other hand you certainly have Tennessee on the upward trend. Gainesville may be a pit but Jean Shorts will be Jean Shorts, and UGA capped an 8 win season under a 1st year head coach. Kentucky managed Action Jackson and looked solid doing it. Mizzou seems to have that same A&M syndrome where they are always a 7-8 win thorn in someones side.
You also have to account for some recent powers having really bad years, but other conference heavyweights have re-emerged. scUM is back, but Sparty had a terribad year of terribadness. OSU was a pretender in the end, and Penn State was legit.
Washington who? USC showed some signs of coming back, while Stanford fell off a bit.
And then of course Clemson was the standout in an average ACC with UNC a distant #2.
Personally, I'm just excited at the prospect that Bama may finally be on the downturn. I respect the hell out of Saban as a coach, but the past few years have been ho-hum and boring. I just want CFB on the whole to be fun to watch again; for those 2 and 3 loss conference games to matter in the long run.
RUTGERS!

Gopha is hiring Arkansas DC Robb Smith (formerly of RUTGERS & Maine). Looks like Fleck isn't bringing all of his staff with him. Arkansas DB Paul Rhoads is the lead candidate to replace Smith.
Can confirm, Coren is legit Clemson fan who travelled to Tallahassee for the FSU/Clemson game. We had beers and bro'd out for a solid 15 minutes.
Just got home from Tampa. I-95 was a 500+ mile caravan of Clemson people driving home. I think there were 45-50k Tiger fans there.
tOSU's Ed Warinner is reportedly hired as Gopha's OL, Official announcement expected Friday

He is also a big recruiter. A 4 star Buckeye WR commit had dropped after the news broke.
