Idol Jihen Ep1(dropped)
Idol series of the Season. I don't care.
Tales of Zestiria the X S2 Ep1
Good stuff. The animation and music were great as always, add Studio ufotable giving us the goodies and you have what is one of the best anime this season.
Little Witch Academia TV Ep1
Absolutely fantastic. Studio Trigger went above and beyond with the TV series. Old scenes lifted from the OVA such as the Shiny Chariot magic show but done with new animation. this a labor of love. show of the season hands down.
GINTAMA IS BACK YOU SONS OF BITCHES!!!!
Winter 2017 is starting out strong. Demi is the adaptation I wish Jitsu had gotten. LWA looks like Trigger having a fuck ton of fun. And we haven't even gotten to more Gundam, Konosuba, and Maid Dragon.
First episode was fantastic! The premise is the exact same but the intro episode is also totally different to the OVA outside of Shiny Chariot's initial show. But even that was reanimated beautifully and had some little differences in it. Really hyped about this and after watching the first episode I'm not worried at all about it being a simple rehash of the OVA's.
Yeah. I was just blown away from the spectacular Animation, and it was done by the Director himself(Yoh Yoshinari). he is an Animator legend and what is exciting his brother(Kou Yoshinari) will be doing the Animation for second episode. Hiroyuki Imaishi suppose to direct and Animate one of the future episodes.First episode was fantastic! So what is the deal with LWA? I'm intrigued, but people keep referencing OVAs. Do I need to watch those first?
I watched the OVAs but haven't seen the series yet. LWA was originally a single OVA short, with another short sequel last year. It got a lot of attention for a short mostly because Trigger can do no wrong. I think the series is just a retelling of the OVA(s?) with expanded story. You're good to skip the OVAs if you want. In fact at this point watching the OVA might spoil the series, depending how close they stay to the original.
The original OVA was crowdfunded IIRC, but unlike a lot of crowdfunded projects (Mighty Number Nine >_>), it actually delivered a beautifully animated and fun project. Honestly the first episode and the first OVA are different enough that I'd recommend watching both. Dunno if/how the second OVA will factor into the anime series but if the first anime episode is any indicator, I wouldn't worry too much about it spoiling anything.
So yeah, essentially go watch the 2 OVAs and then start the anime of LWA
Has it been that long or does the new YowaPedal look weird to anyone else? Glad the story seems to be moving forward, somehow I was expecting a www.working! style reboot/continuation.
The original OVA was Trigger's proof of concept. It was the first thing they did after splitting off from Gainax. It was financed by the Japanese government as a means of employing animators in Japan rather than outsourcing animation. The second OVA was crowdfunded.
Soo I feel like I've asked this before, but I can go straight into witch academy w/o watching anything else? Or do I need to watch the ova first?
Err, they basically discussed that in the previous couple of posts?

You can watch the OVA on Netflix. Right now the TV series is Japanese Netflix exclusive/Japanese Broadcast and won't be released to other Netflix regions until the first season is done airing.
thank you guys for the insight. I think i'm gonna watch the series, then go back and watch the OVA after.
Watched the new GoHands project Hand Shakers.
You're either going to think this looks really good or really bad. I thought the CGI was pretty cool. Jarring at times maybe though. I'm interested enough to keep watching.
