I'm sitting on the following:
Cloud BSB + Blade Beam
Red's SSB2
Barret imp lightning SB + Armor Breakdown SB (garbage)
Vincent's SSB en-fire
Aerith's Blink SB
Tifa's 3-hit SB
Cid's Hyper Jump
Yuffie's Landscaper
Sephiroth's Hell's gate 6*
I still have no desire to pull.
SSBs+s I have: Fenrir overdrive and black materia. Looking forward to something, anything from the lucky.
Had a very easy time with the CM, mastering it 1/1 with -2 damage medals, though I did have full trinity, reverse wall, and cloud OSB/clim combo which trivialized it.
Setup:
Cloud 99 - Lifesiphon r4 / Lifesiphon r4 / Ace Striker / Clim + OSB
Cid 80 - Lifesiphon r5 / Silence Shell r4 / Battleforged / SSB1 + SSB2
Aeris 80 - Ultra Cure r3 / Protectga r3 / Doublecast / BSB
Cait Sith 80 - Curaja r5 / Shellga r3 / Pulse Kindness / Toy Soldier
Red 80 - Full Break r2 / Magic Breakdown r4 / Mako Might / SSB2
RW - Wall
Climhazzard + 4 OSBs @ 99999 each = fight over
i have the cloud combo so the damage potential is there, but this seems impossible without wall + extra mitigation layers. IB does a nice job of nullifying the 6-7k single target spells that can one-shot anyone, but the 5k/turn AoE that starts coming out around turn 3 is another story. gonna try again with wall RW and fire resist instead of KO accessories, hopefully that setup fares a bit better.
edit- yep, that did the trick. winning setup was:
cloud - yukikaze/lifesiphon, ace striker, osb/bsb/climhazzard
aeris - curaja/shellga, mako might, white materia
cid - silence shell/lifesiphone, battleforged, shout
red - full break/magic breakdown, support damage+, protector's roar
barret - entrust/wrath, knight's charge
RW wall, fire resist accessories all around. damage was much more manageable with that setup, gravija during the weak phase sucked and lead to barret + red dying as i was recasting shellga as it went off and couldn't get another heal out before the next attack. still mastered at -2 damage, -1 KO though.
GOD THIS FIGHT WAS FUCKING EASY WITH MY ENWIND OSB WALL BREAK HASTE ATTACK BOOST COMBO
Now do it without all that.
You wouldn't. XD
I'm just reiterating my previous posts where people complain about how easy something was when they pretty much had everything that made it easy to begin with.
Native hastega? Check.
Proper mitigation? Check.
Form of attack boost? Check.
Appropriate element-matching soul breaks? Check.
OSB? Check.
Of course it'll be easy. I mean, Rubicante can be classified as easy if you have all fire resist accessories, wall, asylum, and double breakdowns on him.
It torments me (lol) when I can't CM a Torment unless I have all the right gear.
Just wait until Tactics, fuckers.
So Celes can apparently solo 250 boss without much difficulty if you have Indonesian Blade. Yay!
Now to just figure out how to deal with trash on CM 200. Might bring Tifa instead of Zack for her BSB even though its junk against the boss.
How valuable is protect or a 2nd healer in the CM if you just have Aerith's first Medica?
i don't think there's any physical damage in the boss fight itself, you'd mainly just want protect for the trash rounds. i'd guess a second healer would be mandatory if all you have is a cura medica.
Basically you just bring a party that can clear the trash with np and then just give zero shits as your team is destroyed so Celes can remain and wreck. Man I wish I had IB.
It was glorious.
Hearing mixed debate on Fire Resist vs Gravity Resist being better for the 200 CM.
Gravity seems to occur more often, but the Fire attacks seem to hurt more.
Also, the mobs don't seem very tauntaliate friendly, which sucks but I was stocking Cloud up with Tornado Strike and Aerora Strike as it was. May just bring Tifa instead of Zack for her burst on the trash, but that would limit me with ability selection on the boss as MNK 5* abilities are generally Fire and Earth based.
Is Multi Break worth it? May need to run Protectga or Shellga on Cait if I bring him over Red for support. No unique SB on Cait (so using shared medica) vs ether on Red XII.
Me: I'm just going to RW enwind and blow him up, 400k hp is nothing, I only need shellga)
(aerith eats a 5k drain and dies from full hp)
We're gonna need a bigger hp pool
Yeah, I had a run where I got hit with Debarrier > ~7.5k drain before I could get shell back up and was like ok then...
Yea no don't listen to people talking about fire resist. With enough mitigation and silence fire won't be causing you problems.
Gravity always deals a % of your HP in damage, leaving you vulnerable to a wipe. It's wiser to use that as an accessory.
unless you have a high mind caster, silence won't stick worth a damn, leaving you open to eating 2-3 AoEs in one round if nobody's possessed. i saw fire a lot more than i did gravity, so i swapped to fire resist all around and that worked a lot better for me.
I need to redo my strat (not even touching CM's on this) but Silence buster was averaging 1 out of 3 attacks from Tyro on having silence stick.
Silencega and silence shell have twice the hit rate of silence buster (60% vs 30%)
