Up on treehouse now: https://www.twitch.tv/nintendo
You know, the intro portion of the XB2 trailer got me.
It referred to someone as "The Architect". Is Shulk a god now?
Welp this is day 1 shit for me! :D
I'm really glad they went back to the main character having a personality, that was one of my biggest complaints about Xenoblade X. Silent protagonist is fine in some games I guess, but it was just so irritating after how great Shulk was in the first game.
Day 1 for me, etc., etc.

Looks like a big step down from character design, compared to XenoX; far too blocky, even if they are going for a more cartoonish look. Combat looks sluggish too.

Looks like they refined the graphics, but that combat looks incredibly boring for the layers it has.
Yeah..they've watered it down considerably. It's similar to the original but so slowed down and stuck in the mud that it just looks like a bland ARPG.
Hopefully plays better than it looks. Not gonna pretend anything is going to change about it between now and release so, it is what it is. Most of the game for me was fighting huge godlike monsters and getting in over my head / the world itself, so I'm not too worried until I see more of the world they've built.
If I remember XCX demos, that looked insanely uninteresting because the people playing it are trash. Hopefully a similar issue.
Early-game XB also played a lot differently than late, depending on your party combo and tactics.
Could it be that this is simply running an earlier version stabilized for a demo and that speed/HP values are inflated simply to debug stuff or not have a fight end in 10 seconds in order to show off specials/combos?
Or it could also be a NM of sorts with higher than expected stats for that level range. I did play the video without sound, so I'm not sure if they mention any of that.
Monolith is pretty good at paying attention to small details like that, and they have an acclaimed title in Xenoblade to work off of in terms of how flow/ease of battle should work so I have a really hard time thinking this is their final product.
Another option is that the battle speed is turned all the way down to 1, so everything moves much more slowly.
Grains of Salt, but a retailer may have leaked a December 15th 2017 release date.
I'm in love
