In a nutshell:
- Install new PSU/mobo in a new case
- Nothing turns on; cpu fan starts briefly (runs for a fraction of a second before stopping)
- remove all devices, computer boots fine (to bios of course)
- connect SDD, computer boots to windows (! yay)
- but now it won't recognize either my HDD or my DVD drive. As in, the BIOS won't recognize them, period.
I've tried different cables and different ports. I've tried using the same cable and port that work for the SDD. Nothing. Now the easy answer is that they both got fried due to the power issues I was experiencing early on, but... that just seems odd. It wasn't like there was a power surge or anything.
Is there anything else I can try? I'm going to fool around in the BIOS tonight but I don't have much hope that will help.
Also, I've heard of HDDs getting fried, but how could the DVD drive get fried too, and both at the same time, but not the SDD?
