Just saw got out the movie. Holy shit this was better than I ever hoped for. Everybody in the theater was clapping and cheering when the movie ended. This easily the best animated movie of the year( better than incredibles 2 and Ralph 2).

I love everything about this movie.
The post credits scene is possibly the greatest moment in Marvel, nay movie history.
Just got out of it. The Stan lee cameo was a swift kick in the feels.
this...this was a fun movie totally into the nick miller as spiderman thing, kid that voiced miles was also really good
Best Spider-man movie I've seen
Took the g/f to see this last night after reading all the postive comments here. Movie was amazing (no pun intended) OST was great, VA's were great. g/f was laughing and riding the feels train the entire time. Stay till the very very end you won't be disappointed.
Just got back from seeing it. It's fantastic, get your asses in those seats.
Just going to repeat what everyone's said after getting out of IMAX for this.
Jesus Christ this is a great movie.
Go see it. Fucking amazing.
Just watched it with the family, and we loved it. My wife even stayed awake the whole movie. She loved it.
I probably cried like 4 times...
Just got out of it, I’ll echo others and call this the best spiderman movie by far
I really hope this movie does well. I loved damn near everything about it.
It made 35.4 million domestic this weekend, which is a new record for a December animated film. But, the previous record was Sing with 35.2, and Spider-Man did it over a "5 day opening".
Also, the film's budget is 90 million. If the film doesn't get word of mouth and legs, or get past Aquaman, Bumblebee, and Mary Poppins, it would be a financial flop.
I think the film has what it takes to do that, but what matters if people actually go and see it. Plenty of good films just don't get audiences.
yeah spiderman is gonna take a huge hit this weekend, hopefully it has legs like the greatest showman or something but i doubt it. here's hopin tho
Yeah, if they had released it during the summer it would have been gangbusters. The movie is flat out amazing and probably top 5 movies of the year.
Going into Christmas week. Spiderverse should be fine.
I think it would have been eviscerated and lost in the shuffle if released during spring/summer. Off the top of my head, it would be competing with the following:
Avengers: Infinity War
Ant Man & The Wasp
Incredibles 2
Deadpool 2
Solo: Star Wars Story
Hotel Transylvania 3
Teen Titans Go! To the Movies
The biggest problem Spiderverse had was marketing. I mean when I saw the BG Thread initially, I thought it was just a straight to DVD movie. Sony did absolutely no mainstream marketing of the movie to hype it up until the last month before release when I saw the first trailer for it. This is more on Sony being Sony then anything else.
Fantastic movie, fantastic soundtrack too.
Spoiler: show
