25% chance: Ultima (BLK: deal 390% magical non-elemental damage to all targets)

    Commentary

Squall uses Draw and Junction Triple on his first turn and Draw and Junction Meteor on his second turn of the battle. Squall uses Draw and Junction Meteor on his first turn after being reduced to 70% or less HP and again on his first turn after being reduced to 40% or less HP.

Squall has a mixed offense in all phases, so bring both sorts of mitigation. I strongly advise bringing both Protectga and Shellga. Fujin can carry the second one (or Quistis if you've record dived her). Ultima will hurt very badly if you neglect magical mitigation.

    Commentary

Biggs starts out alone. Wedge spawns after Biggs is reduced to 80% HP. Biggs uses Haste and Regen on his first two turns. Biggs uses Slowga on the third turn of each of his phases. Once either Biggs or Wedge is defeated, the remaining boss enters Sole Survivor state permanently.

OK, so Biggs is an AOE Slow Asshole boss. I recommend devoting one or two characters to AOE damage then having your best DPS character focus entirely on Biggs, to reduce the number of times you cast your RW Hastega then immediately have 3 people AOE Slowed. You don't want to trigger Sole Survivor mode with a boss at nearly full health because Ultimate Go Ballistic gets spammed and it'll wear your healing down. All that aside, both bosses have mixed physical and magical offense (single target magic only until weak phase, though), so plan accordingly.

Event Quest Notes: Really not much more to say here other than you might want to bring a Haste spell on someone to deal with Biggs's AOE Slowgas hitting inconvenient characters.

50/145 chance, unlocks turn 20: Crush (NAT: reduce one target to 1 HP)

    Commentary

Seifer uses Bloodfest on his first turn. Raijin uses Aura on his first turn. Raijin uses Hi Potion on his second and fourth turns in Default phase (unless he doesn't need the heal) and every 4 turns in Weak phase. Fujin uses Haste on her first turn and Regen on her second turn (note that Raijin can counter Fujin's buffs with an AOE attack on the party). Fujin uses Die on her first turn after being reduced to 70% or less HP and every 4th turn thereafter.

Raijin is pure physical but the other two have mixed physical and magical offenses, so pack accordingly. I strongly recommend focusing on Fujin first -- not only is she the weakest defensively and the strongest offensively, she also has a devastating attack (Crush) which unlocks late in the fight if you leave her alive. After that it's up to you whether you take out Raijin or Seifer next, there are advantages to either.

Ultimate+ biggs and wedge? That is hilarious.
Raijin can counter fujin's buffs? Jerk! (While it's RNG, that interaction is kind of clever)

Been looking at future FFVIII banners and this specific one (talking about #1) is way too good to skip and no dupes... so tempted but that means one less pull for Eiko's USB D:
Guess I'll see if the gem pull delivers and then decide.

Oh god, banner 2 hurry up plz.

Fully prepared for a double injection of soduim.

I'll be at 150 on the nose for banner 2's release. 2 pulls on banner 2 and then 1 banner 1 pull if it goes well. I'll stop at Edea or Quistis's BSB though.

I'm gonna pass, but only because i'm going to start pulling more on my waifu banners (Lightning, Fang, Prishe), want at least 100 for Fang OSB banner 1 since I only have Lightning's SSB1 and it'll have her BSB2, SSB2, and SB3 on it, as well as having Fang's awesome OSB on it (love the animation). Also want 50 for Anni and 100 for Prishe.

I took one look at u++ and said fuck, not even gonna try w/ my A team (mostly single target physical)

Ended up going w/ this very slopily put together mage team. Kefka died at the end (but I was expecting that considering lv 65)

HP was all low at the end (Aerith was barely keeping up w/ the burst command)

Seifer/Rajin hasted the whole match (No dispel) and Rajin w/ Aura up.

RW was Aetherial Pulse for shell/tect/Regen

Quistis was hitting 9999 x2 w/ her burst command 2
CR was hitting about 7.5kx2 w/ his burst command 2

So among all 3 targets, CR and Quistis were collectively dishing out 105k dmg/turn

all three were easy, but my FF8 Physical Synergy is really good.

99 Zell - Full Charge, Lifesiphon - Duelist BSB - Battleforged
    80 Quistis - AttackBD, MagicBD - Mighty Guard VIII - Mog's Teachings
99 Squall - Bioga Strike, Lifesiphon - Sub-zero Blast OSB - Ace Striker
80 Selphie - Ultra Cure, Protectga - Dreamstage - Knights Charge

    last slot changed depending on the battle;

vs Squall and Biggs & Wedge, needed Dispel, Dark Attack for Squall, and Armor Break for B&W so...
80 Seifer, Banishing Strike, Reaping Scythe, no SB used, Truthseeker
...then 99 Rinoa for the Trio since BSSB

overall they were all quick and easy, but my synergy for 8 is really nice.

multi-player Bahamut was lucky to get a good PT right out of the gate.

    CM for me was:

Irvine 80 - Full Break / Magic Breakdown / Mako Might / Shared Shellga
    Selphie 80 - Ultra Cure / Protectga / Doublecast / ---
    Fujin 80 - Curaja / Haste / Auto-Haste / ---
    Seifer 80 - Draw Fire / Banishing Strike / Auto-Haste / ---
    Edea 80 - Memento Mori / --- / Dark element +30% / ---

    RW - Metamorphose (Yes, again)

Cleared first try with full medals with only SB used being a shared shellga. Seifer basically neutered the single target physical attacks with draw fire and defending, and was also on dispel duty when buffs were cast. Used Raines CMD1 to reduce both to just above 60%, then CMD2 the rest of the way to minimize the amount of time spent in the weak phase and skipped the dangerous solo phases by killing both simultaneously.
