Frederator Studios with Powerhouse Animation Studios. Released on Frederator Studios Youtube channel this video that gives a lot of great info on the show.
Series was awesome. I was stunned when it ended after 4 episodes.
it was originally conceived of as a movie so breaking one connected narrative into 4 25ish minutes parts makes sense. presumably season 2 will be developed from the get go as a television show and be meatier
I feel like I watched a different series. This shit bored me to tears until the final fight.
Were you just expecting straight action? Between the fitting humor and sarcasm, visceral action and scenes, lack of filters and full on cursing, throw backs to the games and characters, engaging sound track, and generally smooth animation, I couldn't ask for more out of it. They even humanized Dracula and put a reason to his actions, rather than just tossing him in as a big bad.
Personally, this hit nearly every note they possibly could for a Castlevania series and I absolutely loved it. I look forward to them figuring out how to incorporate wall chicken in season two.
It felt like they took 90+ minutes of screen time to show me 40 minutes of content.
My biggest critique would be the bar scene ran entirely too long. Other than that, yeah, there might've been some padding here and there to make the episodic format work, but nothing as egregious as the bar banter. All I can really do is hope we're done with the influence of the church and it's just the group going for Drac in S2.
I will say the finale gave me hope that the second season will be good. The final fight was well done and I liked the little sarcastic humor that was there and a series following Trevor and Alucard together will hopefully have both.
man, i thought this shit was good, flat out.
Finished all 4 eps, I liked it.
Can we all agree Adi Shankar is a pretentious wanker though?
Breaking News: I’m producing a super violent Castlevania mini-series with my homies Fred Seibert and Kevin Klonde. It’s going to be dark, satirical, and after a decade of propaganda it will flip the vampire sub-genre on its head.
Really? What little Dracula backstory we got was amazingly done. Idk about flipping the genre on it's head, but if you haven't played the games than this back story + Alucard are already enough to make people go "oh this is def a fresh take on dracula".
