That doesn't take into account for what happens with skills.
Now granted I assume SAM will also utilize slashing damage which will make WAR really super important.

Basically. DRK and AST didn't change people into tanks and healers in the endgame. But a LARGE amount of people level these jobs in leveling dungeons. Something we won't have nearly as much in 4.0. The big thing here though is that the new jobs start at 50 instead of 30. So these jobs will only have to level for 20 levels instead of the 50 the original jobs had to in ARR or the 30 the HW jobs needed. While I believe they should make the new jobs start at 40 and have that same 30 it makes more sense to limit the need to level up as less as possible.
New meta will be DRK WAR DRG SAM MNK MCH AST SCH
Considering we don't know anything about the job changes yet that's quite an early call.
LOL you need to keep a paper red band to get back into the venue tomorrow.
AHAHAHAHA.
Con flu will be real.
Samurai in motion for anyone who hasn't seen it.
Looks pretty dope.
- Samurai confirmed as second new job. Only two jobs for this expansion and both are DPS. SAM armour grouped with MNK. Main weapon Katana. IAI and other Far Eastern techniques. Heavy melee DPS. Art of Sen. Three forces Setsu, Getsu and Ka (Snow, Moon and flower). Like RDM, will start at level 50. Quest will start in Eorzea
- First we battle Imperials/Ala Mhigo then head further East to Othard (continent)
- New gear/crafted items
- New city - Kurogane. Far Eastern port town on isolationist Island chain of Hingashi. Only place which welcomes/trades with other nations
- Othard field areas mentioned. The Ruby Sea, exclusive, rife with Pirate activity, connected to Kurogane and one of the first new areas we’ll encounter
- New beast tribe: the Kojin. Turtle/tortoise like. Found in and around the Ruby Sea. Underwater settlements. Collectors of items which house powerful Kami.
- New Primal: Lord of Revel - Susano. ‘Ruler of the Ruby Sea’
- Mutiple new dungeons, one was channelling Arrapago Ghost ship feels
- Yanxia: second city to liberate will be found here. Controlled by Garlean Empire.
- Azim Steppe: plains area. Absolutely stunning. Au Ri reside here
- Dev footage showed some areas where there were rice etc
- 4th Residential area: Shirogane. Will be released some time after Stormblood release. Moving will be possible
- Housing furnishing capacity will be doubled for all size
- Theme tune will have usual Susan Calloway
Also updated Stormblood trailer. Now 2 minutes longer!
Edit: Moar
I'll be honest that bit where they moved across the world map was really dope.
Reddit not providing any pics of the new gear they showed off. So if anyone wants to hook a brother up...? >_>
extremely disappointed they caved to casuals with sam. and that excuse for it being a dps was total BS.
I called the excuse of balancing out the jobs by primary attributes awhile ago. Its how FFXIV 2.X was by the time NIN came in.
All the keynote images for anyone interested:

everyone and their mother will be playing sam -_- calling it now, just like it was the case in FFXI becase "BADASS"
and every mage (healers or DPS mage) will be playing redmage because "BADASS"
They failed to introduce badass Dancer to keep healers as healers ._., i for sure will be playing RDM ¬.¬ because fuck AST SCH and WHM
Well I hope the sam/rdms enjoy their hour long queues on launch trying to get into story instanced content.
I plan on going Drg to 70 first. But after that, War, Sch, Rdm next, I haven't decided. I'll probably do a combination of the 3 as insta-tank/healer queues will be nice, but long ass DPS queues will be awful lol.
My bard can wait till 4.5, like it waited until 3.5 with Heavensward >_>.
But yeah, as awesome as Samurai looked in the Stormblood trailer, I think Redmage looked better in motion in the actual gameplay trailer.
