getting back 760 this year... yay turbotax freedom edition!

still better than i thought id do since i only made about 6k due to starting work in october, lol
I usually pull in between $800-$1k but Uncle Sam has been intercepting me the last few years and putting it all towards my federal student loans.
hell i've already had mine back for almost 2-3 weeks now, can't complain got back 2k.
I'm getting 300 bucks back. I make too much. With my raise I'm anticipating this year I'll start owing next year. Shit sucks.
I don't get anything back and have to pay because independant contractor QQ
Get married they said, will help on taxes they said.
Getting a bengi for refund wtf, make too much for this podunk life I live, not rich as Tyven tho apparently
Have to pay a rack
Just learned this: for those making under 100k, PMI on your mortgage is deductible.
I hate getting refunds back at the end of the year. I like to keep my end of year tax return/liability as close to $0 as possible. For the first six months of the year, I suspected I would be claiming married with 4 dependents. My W4 withholdings reflected that assumptions. Then my whore of an ex-wife gets knocked up by her friends husband, I get a divorce, and I get absolutely fucked from a tax standpoint. I spent the last 6 months trying to play catch-up. Almost did too! After hammering myself for the last 6 months on tax withholdings and some creative tax accounting, I only paid in $250. Pretty stoked all things considered.
Had way too many dental bills this past year. I broke a molar in June and had it extracted and a dental implant and crown installed. 5.5k on top of my normal medical expenses means I was able to itemize my medical deduction as well. I'm getting almost 3.5k combined fed/state back. Unfortunately, it's all going towards replenishing my savings that were depleted because of those aforementioned bills.
im getting 1.6K back .... but really im going to get a letter in the mail saying YOU KNOW YOU OWE US MONEY #forprofitcolleges
I'm getting 4.2K back. I put all of my extra money into my 401k and my husband's IRA which lowers our AGI. We even get to take advantage of the saver's credit if we push our AGI low enough. I plan to retire early or at least not depend on SS when I don't want to work anymore. All of my refunds just goes back into retirement accounts.
Lowering my AGI also helps with student loan payments since they recalculate it every year using my AGI. It makes me look poor enough to not have a ridiculous monthly payment.
gfy really
Tax loopholes are great.
You really do not want a large refund generally, outside of certain unique situations like first time homebuyer's credits or other material shifts in your withholding status from a new child, etc. A large refund effectively means you've given the government a free loan from excess withholdings over the year.
That said, I miss not owing money at tax time regardless of the logic behind it
