I'm on PS4 as well and loving it. Ive been playing with headphones on because my TV's sound isnt great. Really enjoying everything overall. I'm finding myself trying to brand every Captain per region haha

last PlayStation I owned was PS2. Had no idea the controllers themselves has speakers now. Pretty neat.
Off topic, doing a revenge mission as we speak. Dudes name is Dush but when they started chanting his name at his intro, it sounded like Douche! Douche! Douche! Still dying.

This was a rollercoaster of emotions.
Lmfao!!!!!!!!
That was pretty epic. Also, dude is definitely way past me in story but I have most of the main skills already.

Does this get super repetitive and grindy?
Dude in video is just rolling over everything hack and slash, and I hear there's a lot of tower climbing like ass creed.
Yes. Completely so. This time around it's lessened by gear drops and raiding other people's castles.

Tower climbing is sped up unlike I've seen in any AC game though.
I think they've diversified the game enough to keep it from getting too dull. Different orc types require different strats, even for nameless grunts. Actual loot system to keep you engaged, and extra movement abilities so you don't spend forever moving between points.
Different orc captains require different strategies based on their immunities and weaknesses, he was just rolling over the captain a lot because that's what worked against him. Until it adapted, anyway. As you level up more you get more abilities and different options for taking down orcs.
The climbing is better than Assassin's Creed, tapping a button while climbing can vault you to damn near the top of whatever you are climbing, though you can still climb slowly if you want to.
Finished my 100% run, with 3 extra skill points. Act 4 can get a bit ridiculous toward the end on Nemesis. On some of those 65 captains I had to cheese it a few times to get a kill. The other problem I had was getting 100% on the Nemesis category of quests. I was missing 2 outposts and had the majority of captains in most zones dominated. So I had to shun half the captains from my army in every zone and do a bunch of time forwarding to get the outposts to pop up again. Way more of a pain that it was worth. For anyone going for 100% make sure you have 17 outposts in the Nemesis quest category complete before doing too much dominating.
Spoiler: show
Damn fam. You didn't savor a single bit of this meal did you?

Anyone know how the high settings look on PC w/o the 4K texture pack? I generally am not a graphics whore, but the screenshots I'm seeing of PS4 version (which I originally wanted to get due to data download caps) make it look like a last-gen game in spots, which baffles me. I thought we had texture streaming figured out to a tee already.
Only have 6gb VRAM on this card, the 4K pack recommends 8gb, so I'd be stuck with whatever settings below that are.
Not really sure how to answer you here. It's all subjective to the gear you're using. Also, not sure of this was a separate download. I got it via Steam and downloaded the full 90-something GB literally didn't look into anything else.
I'm playing at 1440p with a GTX1070 but all settings except resolution are on ultra. Frames drop to 60 only during cutscenes otherwise they hover above 90. My monitor is nothing to right home about either. I have both streamed it to my 4K TV via Nvidia Shield and actually hooked my PC up to it and while frames dropped to the low 80s, that's as far as they got.
I'll try some screen caps with Ansel (since I haven't tried that yet) and post some.
Maybe some PS4bros can post some screen grabs also.

It honestly isn't a graphic powerhouse. doesnt look awful but their budget definitely didnt go into graphics development
Seriously though. Makes me wonder how many monologues they got done. There's so much.
If you can find an Orc named "The Poet" or "The Bard" or "The Singer", they sing their monologues to you and so far I've not seen any repeats. They also fight wielding a spiked banjo/lute looking thing and it's hilarious.
I can't beat the damn Minas Morgul Champion pit....i lose and its not close every damn time
