Desert map launches tonight

I have to do 4 hours of work before trying the new map.

Awfully hard to talking rationally about work with a raging huge megaboner.

It's so SMOOTH. Quake 3 300fps smooth.

Lots of meta shifts as well - the new vehicles are slower, gas hungier - eg the VW van slow as shit, can't offroad.
The pickup is fairly slow, but can offroad like a BEAST - but is a total gas slut.

The sawn off goes into the sidearm slot which is nice. Not sure how strong it is yet.

At least gone are the days (that I've seen thus far) of one-second hitches. I'm probably still rather CPU-bound by the game, so hopefully having to make the shit work on Xbone benefits the PC as a result.

New map is fucking evil as far as sniping potential goes. There's a ton of rock formations to climb up on to peer into the valleys and houses all around you.

I'm capping 60fps on my rig with 1440p right now with everything except distance and textures on low. I need to try higher settings at some point but I think it looks fine as is.

Xbox version is out tomorrow but codes/copies have been sent out and it's playable + servers up already if you get lucky.

Third person only + only erangel at the moment for xbox. Miramar early next year. No info on if xbox will get FPP at some point.

gotta say the test server, for anyone who hasn't tried it yet, is sooooo much different. it just feels like a different game. i won my first test server game, too LOL. it felt so much better i'm actually excited to play again, for when it goes live.

Yea test server is awesome. I just want the vaulting patch to make it to live servers already and that will change the game soooooooo much.

Lots and lots of cheaters on the test server though. Really wish they would collect data about cheats from the test server.
