Any other new friends playing this now? I want to group in a non judgmental environment and learn 2 not suc
does this game have matchmaking or what
it says it does but there is no way someone like me who gets maybe 1 kill every 3 games is matched with people who can actually aim lul
this cant possibly be right
The overall rating is based on your game finishing positions.
The matchmaking is very loose, eg 1400-1600 game, 1600-1800, 1800-2200+ etc, it's very very loose and prioritises match launching speed.
It's very easy to grind the overall rating board because it's kinda boring. Optimum strategy is looting far away and staying out until third circle. ( Also easy to get wins this way, but also the least kill/skill intensive )
Most contested leaderboard is kills/game or wins.
seems p weird to me that I would get matched in a game yesterday with a dude on the top 10 leaderboard for kills? i think in fpp solos, I know that guy has killed me before too RAHJ_TV or something
I feel like im finally getting a grasp on how to kill people right at the drop but I'm still doing pretty bad in final 10 late game. Just very hard to get a good position and there is always someone watching me run in from the blue. I got a #2 yesterday killing #3 and then getting shot in the back of the head by the winner so that felt bad.
I mostly play solo because i feel real dumb when I queue duos and we spend like 15 minutes looting in peace and then I die the first time I see someone lul
nvm that dude was top 10 for solo fpp wins @ 33% win rate how the fuck lol
33% isn't particularly difficult in solo on EU, let alone NA.
Once you have the gunplay to a good level then it becomes about reading the circle and the situation and positioning as correctly as you can given your information.
For eg the last season I played I had a 70% top 10 rate, and a 32.5% winrate.
I honestly feel like I could've had nearer at 45-50% winrate if I didn't flub a few games.
A typical top 10 situation for me has me with 50+ solo wins, who can stay calm, 6-7 guys who rarely top 10 and their heart is pounding out of their chests and maybe 1-2 other guys who even have a single win.
I have a 50%+ winrate in that situation, higher if not for throwing a few games with dumb mistakes.
Realistically something like 60-70% for me, 28% for the other 2 guys combined and the other 7 guys have a 2% chance ( possibly lower? ).
There are NO popular streamers playing for optimum win %, and the reason is because it's BORING.
Optimal Strategy is this:
You drop 1-1.5km from the plane, drive at minimum another 1 km, loot for 15 minutes - do not come in from the blue until the third circle.
Here you will have 2 helmet 2 chest , and an AR+sniper or SMG+DMG type setup with 3+ health and 5+ stim ( usually more ), and all your armor will be undamaged.
Your guy who drops school and lived to this point might have 1-2 health, 1-2 stim and highly damaged armor. So what if he's got 5 kills and I've got 0? I'm not dropping school because I can't compete there, I'm not dropping it because I'm gonna kill the people that survived it.
I'll also be coming in with a car which lets me position wherever I want and have cover. I will either center on the 4th circle as soon as it sets to get the best position, or if late then gamble on a building that CAN be centered on next circle. ( the amount of times this wins games... lol ).
At least HALF the guys in the top 5-10 will stand still behind a tree. This is where the kar98/m24 shine - free kills. Just remember shooting will draw attention.
Finding where people are is better than killing them - eg the game you came second in. If you knew where one guy is, just play somewhere closeby so you can jump and vulture the final guy when they fight - try and be the undamaged guy who cleans up rather than the guys who fight when they don't have to.
Also once the circle gets under say 200-300m a ton of guys will still be trying to snipe with the kar/m24, which is a huge mistake - tapping a guy out is much easier and likely to get a kill vs a moving target, yet time and time again people will try sniping in this situation, at best take 1 sniper shot and switch back to AR/SMG.
The same strats apply in duos and squads but it's much riskier to drive past people because 4 guys shooting at you instead of 1 is much likelier to get some hits.
If shroud/Chocotaco played purely for the win and switched between na/eu and hid the queue screen to bamboozle snipers then I think playing the same strategy they'd have 80-90% winrates.
since the last update every time i go back to the main lobby from a game the game crashes

Concurrent Player Count has Dipped Below 1M for the First Time in Over a Year, Blamed on the CoD Battle Royale Beta

Sounds right. I've seen shroud, Doc, timthetatman, LIRIK, and other streamers playing the CoD beta even on console. Would make sense that there are a large number of other people also trying it out. When it hits PC I would expect the numbers to drop further. The question would be longevity for CoD.
