sick, thanks! this is actually somewhat close to the shell i've been playing with right now that got me to ~50% or so on my first attempt. i can replicate this setup almost perfectly, only change i'd need to make is to swap quistis for terra.

p. sure the actual victory run RW was courtesy of BG's own skai

soul breaks used were as you'd expect; eblan doppelganger, scorching flame, sentinel's grimoire, asylum/aetherial pulse, tenets of the fayth

the phantasm/SP combo for edge put me over, thief and ninja abilities are a mental blind spot for me so i really didn't think about using him for supplemental damage/mitigation.

i actually fucked the winning run up massively as i forgot to unequip fire beam and immediately proceeded to fat-finger it, which meant resistance triggered on subsequent OSB casts. whoops. probably would've mastered if it weren't for that but fuck it, i got my 500k and can (but probably won't) skip banner 5 now.

Haven't tried this out yet but thinking of giving it a try today or tomorrow.

I'm thinking of going for a turtle setup, which leans more towards relying completely on radiant shield, so I dunno if I'll have enough dps to rely on just 2 RW charges... Also I don't have any good native hastegas which sucks.

The two comps I'm thinking of are:

Raijin (SSB/BSB, double LS?), Vaan (BSB, LS + I guess power breakdown), Tyro (SG, full break, haste), Vanille (BSB, pro/shell?), Yshtola (BSB, wall if needed, wrath+something)
RW: Alphinaud

Or (basically swap ysh for alphi, and tyro for aeris (only other healing bsb I have))

Raijin (SSB/BSB, double LS?), Vaan (BSB, LS + I guess power breakdown), Alphinaud (BSB, SSB, pro/shell? haste cure?), Vanille (BSB, pro/shell haste? cure?), Aeris (BSB, pro/shell? haste? cure?)
RW: I guess wall... or maybe galuf if I have enough healing/debuffs, or maybe Edge (could drop raijin for something else at that point?)

dunno :/ still need to clear a couple more of the dungeons for synergy

Most clears I'm seeing are with combos of like...Vanille + Edge and such I don't have instant cast goodness. Just Yshtola BSB, Eiko BSB, Aerith BSB and my only Last Stands are Minfilia and Raijin (with no BSB) RIP.

check my setup on the previous page, i did it using yshtola + yuna as my healer combo and edge as my last stand. vanille's BSB is super helpful, especially with mage strats due to her C1, but as i discovered it's definitely not mandatory!

atm my setup to possibly use is like..Eiko (for the haste/heal)+Yshtola with Tyro as a backup heal + Full Break, Raijin for Last Stand and Terra for like..Magic Breakdown +Wrath for OSB spam possibly.

Vaan? If not, Terra w/ break down/wrath might be able to do it. That's basically my setup swapping Vanille for Eiko (which honestly would be better I think, I lacked a native hastega and relied on tyro single targetting haste and bsb for hastes/overwriting slows)

Raijin's bsb didn't really help all that much. His heals often hit right after vanille and yshtolla topped everyone off, and he only provided like 50k of damage before pushing to phase 2, where he stopped trying to damage.

Got to ~5% first attempt, even though I lost yshtola and faris at ~50%. Should have him down sometime today.

Edit: Downed him! Was attempt #5 or so, kept screwing up pro/shell/wall timing.

No Vaan and my Raijin only has SSB anyway

my issue is living through the opening salvo. I dunno what to do. I have Dr. Mog's on Tyro and Yshtola atm, but like.. doing MBD, Protectga, Shellga, Wall, Deployment Tactics.. I don't have time usually to get around to having an asylum queued to go off between Boundless Ultima into Ultra Spark.

Funnily enough the best run I had (like 45%) was with Vanille (who I had in there for Eiko since she wasn't synergy yet) dying at the start to the opening part and then I just sustained til the middleish.

Yeah, the opening is the hardest part, you really need a healing queued. If you're having trouble just surviving the two hits, you can try defending.

I personally found I only needed shell and wall to survive the opening, which made it easier. (Swapped out the MM from vaan and gave it to vanille for that big cure right after it.)

Setup:

Terra - Magic Breakdown/Wrath / whatever that RM is that gives like 15% magic with no downside
Yshtola - Wrath/Protectga / Mako Might
Eiko - Curaja/Shellga / Ace Striker
Tyro - Full Break/Curaja / Dr. Mog's teaching
Raijin - Lifesiphon/Power Break / Battleforged

Terra has OSB
Yshtola has Asylum/Wall/Pulse (pretty much spammed Asylum)
Eiko has BSB
Tyro has Wall
Raijin has SSB Last Stand
