You want to start working to raise your light level to 265. You can really do anything (adventures, quests, strikes, crucible, etc), but the fastest method is just to do public events since they'll drop blues which raise you up and have a chance to reward exotics. Once you hit 265, you need to rely on powerful rewards which reset each week (so save those unless it's Monday night). Don't complete any exotic quest until you're like 270 or so since you can only get those rewards once. There are also legendary mods which give that slot a +5 bonus when equipped, so keep an eye on any piece of gear you get to see if it has one equipped.

If you have a solid team it's a blast. PvE is about as boring as it gets imo.

Also, once you have uriels, mida, last hope, antiope, that's literally the only weapons you neednfor trials. Light lvl doesn't matter.

I'll keep this short, cause this rant can go for a while.. but I'm a big proponent of, if you want to get better in PvP, play more PvP. You're never going to develop better habits or learn to play better if you never play. Yes, you might suck for a while and your K/D is gonna be bad. Who cares, it gives you the opportunity to improve.

I think this is one of the big hurdles facing D2's PvP -- it is different than D1, so people need to actually learn how to play in the new environment. Unfortunately that's asking too much and the circle-jerk that is Reddit has all these people bitching about why D2 PvP sucks and is not fun. Let's just ignore for a minute how many of them hated D1 PvP and begged for more primary gun fights..

I believe Gad and I have mentioned this before, but one of the best ways to get better at trials is to find a team and play with them consistently. Competitive is all about teamwork and coordination, so playing with the same people and learning how to play together is one of the first steps to going flawless.
