For some reason on my PC I could not load the next page on here... it just kept reloading the page before... was really strange
Too lazy to even change the release date at the end of the trailer, lol.
I assume it shouldn't be shared here, but someone scanned and posted the latest Edge magazine story about Destiny 2 to Reddit. Gonna take an early lunch break and read it -- will be back with high points later.
As promised, highlights:
- Nightfall is now timed, with different limits per strike. Sounds like a big part of this is the whole locked loadouts thing -- they want people to plan before going into these events and use communication and strategy.
- Sounds like the exploding energy shield mechanic is being simplified from the beta -- just need to deplete the shield to trigger the explosion.
- Warlocks get an exotic armor early during the campaign.
- Unlike D1 where ability cooldowns were passively reduced by armor, from the sounds of it, they want reduced cooldowns to be a reward for skilled gameplay. They mention the Dawnblade perk that reduces grenade cooldowns while airborne as an example -- if you're a player who can hop into the air (a risky move) and pick off enemies, you get your grenade back faster. They mention that they did this so it's more a matter of player skill rather than RNG, but I'm not entirely sold.
- Grenades (and possibly all abilities?) are reportedly more powerful.
- Gunslinger has a node that produces eight orbs -- which completely fills a super from zero.
- Hand cannons are reportedly harder to use than D1 (didn't really use them much in the beta apart from Sunshot, so maybe others felt this way as well?).
- Only twenty-seven percent of players had completed a raid in year one.
- You get rewards if other clan members complete the NF. Curious to hear how this is going to work out..
- Story is actually present, makes sense, etc.
- Approach is building on TTK, where we don't have access to the full world exploration until we progress through the story.
- 80 missions/activities.
- Bungie acknowledges that problem with going from six person PvE to four person PvP, but they feel this and some of the changes just make Crucible better.
- The importance of team-shooting in the beta was intentional -- they want even the Crucible to emphasize team cohesion.
I liked the shared-shooter FPS that had MMO elements but this feels too much MMO with shooting.
Did someone break this thread? Says there's a new post and new page, but it just redirects me to the top of page 9.
It's happened a couple times in the last week. Not sure if it's a forum-wide thing when it happens or if it's exclusive to this thread.
Yeah it's working for me now. No idea. First time that's happened to me that I can remember.
Spoiler: show
