What's really upsetting, after looking that up and giving it some more thought, is that the "all media is the same" trope has been around forever but our lucky asses are getting to experience a hyperextended version our grandparents had nightmares about.

A saving grace is that it's mainly the current grandparent generation caught in that particular media mousetrap, I guess? Like, I'm sure my parents 2 main news sources are a local station, fox news, and some webpage that a god awful adware thing forced on them that I'll have to clean up, perpetually.

Just change Fox News to either Fox or Fox Opinion and they can sling whatever muck they want to. Its pretty clear, however, which way they were going to go.
