I personally wish Carl Alzner a speedy recovery. He and Brooks Oprik have looked fantastic.
In all seriousness I'm kinda worried the Leafs will go after Alzner in free agency this offseason.
I think Karl is injured worse than we know and has been playing through it most of the year, cause he has been bad against almost everyone. If he recovers, in the off-season, I think he will be back to the normal consistent rock that he was, when he could actually somewhat skate but who knows.
I definitely have wanted Schmidt to be playing over Alz or Orpik since we got Shatt, but "vet presence" seems to matter more than skill.
Worried was maybe the wrong word. I'm just wary of A) overpaying for him just because we need the help, and B) a guy who struggles with foot speed seems like a poor fit for a team as fast as the Leafs are. But then I look at Hunwick and Polak (beginning of the season aside) who have done all right and who Alzner is almost definitely better than and I wonder.
I'm not really insulting him personally. I'm just thinking he many not be a great fit for the team and I don't want us to throw a ton of money at him to find out.
Monahan not going to World Championships, needs wrist surgery. Makes what he did against the Ducks all the more impressive, in my opinion.
Alright, let's go Caps; heading out to find a watering hole with the game in SF before dinner with buddies.
And everyone look at this tweet; it's very important:

With the hawks getting swept out, i'm amazed the thread title hasn't changed yet.
Just a reminder, Tom Wilson has scored as many goals as the entire Chicago Blackhawks team this post season.
straight for the jugular. I like it.
Very nice Judai. Also excellent gif Obsidian.
Oh god damn it....Pierre is at this game
Both teams playing pretty defensively so far
