I'm pretty fucked in the bracket challenge because I had Chicago going pretty far.
WSH v PIT - Pens in 6
OTT v NYR - Sens in 6
ANA v EDM - Oilers in 7
NSH vs. ST. - Perds in 6

So many folks picking the Perds; much scared. And that TOR dart guy / T2 molten metal GIF is fucking GOAT.
Perds curbstomped the favorite from the west
I feel the same way when people pick Anaheim. As for the blues and the perds, it's nashville depth that I think is going to turn the tide in that series.
Joe Thornton was playing through a torn ACL/MCL. Jesus
When my knee was blown apart (ACL, MCL, PCL) I couldn't even walk, nevermind fucking skate in the NHL. That's madness.
Listened a bit to MB press conference.
Really not confident in the future
It's gonna be a tough series, most people here and everywhere didn't expect the Blues to beat MIN and saw the Preds sweep the Hawks so they just assume Preds win. The Blues were hot as hell post-Hitchcock though, and I picked them to go to the Cup in the West. Jake Allen has been Vezina quality since then, but if Pekka keeps up his form, I think the Preds are deeper and better.
I think it's a coinflip series, so agree. And my bracket challenge is looking pretty good; 2nd highest max point total. If I hadn't put the Shraks going to the WCF, I'd be crushing.
So Peter DeBoer admitted that Thornton tore both his ACL and MCL. How the fuck was he even on the god damn ice for games 3-6?
Travis Green would be the new Canucks Coach according to Bob Mckenzie
Has to google him lol

Zaitsev wasn't medically cleared to play at the World Championships, which means he was definitely playing with a concussion against Washington. Really not super thrilled about that.
Ligament tears, while never good, come in a pretty broad spectrum. There are minor tears that hurt, but the knee remains stable and can be resolved without surgery (via rehab). More serious tears will typically involve some pre-surgery rehab with arthroscopic or standard surgery performed a few months after the incident; patella tendon is often harvested to supplement/replace the damaged ligament. Then there are complete tears that require immediate surgery and cadaver ligaments/titanium pins/etc. Joe's likely fell into the first bucket; you absolutely cannot walk, let alone play professional hockey, with the third.
I completely tore my ACL/MCL/LCL in a catastrophic knee injury in high school (wrestling single leg takedown gone wrong); I had surgery within 48 hours and have an 8 inch incision on one side, a 3 inch incision to the left of the patella tendon, three arthoscopic holes, three cadaver ligaments, and a bunch of pins. Can tell you definitively Joe did not have a complete tear.
Still a boss for playing through it; just providing perspective.
