FFRK - Women Of The World (FFXI) Events & Strategies

    Event Start Date: April 20
    Event Bonus Battle: April 23
    Event End Date: April 30

Do note that while this was Japan's 2nd FFXI event, this is our first. So info regarding the Cid Mission is just conjecture, but likely to only require Shantotto much like our 2nd Tactics event only required Ramza and Agrias.

All information is taken from a mixture of Reddit/Spreadsheets/Kongpakbao Site.

Most, if not all info for the event (Commentary/Ultimate Abilities was directly copy/pasted from it, so all credit to the site for that especially!) comes from this site: https://www.reddit.com/r/FFRecordKee...5a&sh=0e2c6486

    Notable Rewards:
Sudden Freeze (4* Witch) - Two ST 2.6x ice magic attacks (5.2x total), grants Quick Magic Attack 1 to user.

Abyssal Shards (5* Witch) - Six ST 1.35x ice magic attacks (8.1x total), long cast time.
Hell Thunder (5* Witch) - Six ST 1.35x lightning magic attacks (8.1x total), long cast time.

    Old Memory Crystals
    Shantotto MC1/MC2

    New Record Materia:
Ayame MC1:Samurai abilities small damage up.
Ayame MC2: Attack rarely becomes Kensen (Flashing Blade?) (5* Samurai 2 hit ability).

Curilla MC1: Knight abilities small damage up.
Curilla MC2: Medium sword damage up.

Prishe MC1: Start battle with light regen.
Prishe MC2: Attack occasionally becomes Drain Strike.

Lion MC1: Attack hits twice, but at reduced power.
Lion MC2: Start battle with haste and small attack boost.

    New Record Sphere
    Ayame
    Curilla
    Prishe
    Lion

    Characters Needed for Battles
    None

    Cid Missions
Currently Unknown, but very likely to simply require Shantotto be part of your party for the U+ fight.

    Relics

    Ridill's don't drop here. Ever.

This is FFRK Global's introduction to Chain Soul Breaks.

Chain SB's are a buff (generally lasting 15 seconds) that improves the damage each time an ability related to that chain element is used.

Say Shantotto uses her Frightening Lightning CSB. A meter will appear tracking the chain counter, and every thunder ability used (including the SB) will have its damage increased by 1% for each previous use.

So if the chain sits at 15, and someone then casts Chain Thundaga, the first hit will do 15% more damage and increase the counter to 16, and then the 2nd hit will do 16% more damage and increase the counter to 17.

All abilities that fulfill the chain status will have a small chainlink icon next to them on your HUD.

25% chance to activate in response to physical attacks: Counter Attack (PHY: deal 150% physical damage to one target)

Notes and Strategies: Prophyrion always uses Attack on its first turn. In Default phase, Porphyrion cannot use its AOE attacks more frequently than once every other turn (each). In Weak and Very Weak phases, Porphyrion cannot use its AOE attacks more frequently than once every third turn (each) and always follows 凶 Thunder Roar with its basic Attack.

Porphyrion is 100% pure grade-A physical damage, so leave your magical mitigation at home. He's pretty much a standard tank-and-spank, nothing special here aside from the weak phase piercing attack (which isn't really anything special at this point). If you're worried about damage on your squishier characters, equipping them with thunder resistance will help against Thunder Roar (either version).

10/90 chance: Back Swish (PHY: deal 206% physical damage to all targets)
10/90 chance: Mow Down (NAT: deal 253% physical damage to all targets with a 78% chance to Poison them)

25/90 chance: 凶 Mow Down (NAT: deal 450% piercing physical damage to all targets with a 78% chance to Poison them)
25% chance to activate in response to physical attacks: Counter Attack (PHY: deal 266% physical damage to one target)

Notes and Strategies: Minotaur always casts Shell on its first turn. In its Default phase, Minotaur can't use Mow Down or Backswish more frequently than once every other turn (each), can't use its Doom more frequently than once every 3 turns, and can't its AOE armor break more frequently than once every 4 turns. In Weak phase, Minotaur can't use Mow Down more frequently than every other turn; can't use Shell, Backswish, or Stonega more frequently than once every 3 turns (each); and cant use 凶 Mow Down more frequently than once every 4 turns. In Very Weak phase, Minotaur can't use Backswish more frequently than once every other turn and can't use Stonega, Mow Down, or 凶 Mow Down more frequently than once every 3 turns (each). Minotaur always follows 凶 Mow Down with its two-hit Attack.

Minotaur mixes it up a little more than Porphyrion, as he does have Stone and Stonega to keep your mitigation honest (and Stonega will hit for ~3k through Wall + Full Break, so you definitely need to mitigate it somehow). The vast majority of his damage is physical, however. Watch out for his AOE -DEF debuff; if you have a party pure +DEF buff (like Bartz SSB or Ramza BSB; Ramza's is especially good since Minotaur is weak to holy), this is a good time to bring it out of storage. Note that, while it isn't a medal condition like it is for Porphyrion, Minotaur is also vulnerable to Slow (and its Speed is low enough for that to matter), so having a source of it can't hurt.

Event Quest Notes: Shantotto is kind of an annoying forced party member here because she can't do squat to help with any of the medal conditions or really anything in this fight. Equip her with whatever your best damage options are. Otherwise, it's an easy Cid's Mission because you can bring your native Wall/Shout/OKBSB/whatever.

30/120 chance, unlocks turn 3: Bowels of Agony (NAT: deal 253% physical damage to all targets)
40/120 chance, unlocks turn 3: Implosion (NAT: deal 342% magical dark damage to all targets)

Moveset (<70% HP: Second Life, Weak):
30% chance: Kick (PHY: deal 344% physical damage to one target)
30% chance: Bowels of Agony (NAT: deal 253% physical damage to all targets)
40% chance: Implosion (NAT: deal 342% magical dark damage to all targets)

Notes and Strategies: On his first life, Shadow Lord uses Attack on its first turn and Kick on its second turn. In Default phase of its first life, Shadow Lord always follows Umbra Smash with Fire V and always follows Firaja with Drain. In its Magic Immune phase, Shadow Lord always follows Dark Nova, Firaja, Giga Slash, and Swatch of Silence with Kick (there's code for Dark Nova to chase Swatch of Silence, but priority should prevent this). In its Physical Immune phase, Shadow Lord always follows Giga Slash and Damning Edict with Fire V. In all of its Second Life phases, Shadow Lord always follows Implosion and Bowels of Agony with Kick.

This is a very similar fight to the King of Darkness MO we had during the Anniversary celebration, if you remember that. The main differences here are that he switches immunities much less frequently and when you kill him the first time, he revives and you have to do it all over again (but without the immunities). One thing to note for the first life is that ninja magic completely bypasses both the physical and magical shields, so having a ninja with Double Gust or Blast around makes it a lot easier to consistently DPS him down through his various phases.

Looks alot better tbh then what I make, really like your format, any chance we can just fuse the old thread we made into this one? Not 100% sure how that works.

    Watch Peacock Charm be Def+30.

Outside of the one or two utility pieces, I have a hard time justifying pulling tonight. Yeah its the game that took up nearly 2 full years of my life in total playtime, but for FFRK it just doesnt get events often enough.

Put Luzaf on a banner, and we have a different story.

Setting my sights on X and XII banners for a while.

Well, they already made Ochiudo's Kote have +26 Attack. That's an improvement.

Now if they release BLU upon making Luzaf and Aht Urghan stories, we might have a good realm for a while.
