glad I pulled, however, I have a question now - with kains LMR significantly increasing damage when a polearm is equipped - would it be better to equip it and my 210 damage (357 with synergy) Lightbringer+ sword - ignoring the LMR bonus. OR combine LMR with 136 (246 with synergy) wyvern lance+ ?

100+ attack seems like a no-brainer, but I'm not familiar with caps.

ATK cap is 810, so as long as you can reach that with whatever buffs you use, you should be good.

ok, so numbers then..

Kain with Sword and no LMR = 728 attack
Kain with Polearm/LMR combo = 617 attack

... I also have Edwards BSB with large attack boost, does this mean the Polearm AND Sword will be hitting attack cap, and the Polearm/LMR combo WOULD be better?

Edward's is 50%. If you are using edward's bssb then it's better to do polearm combo.
EDIT: Do you have a lightning up spear by any chance? Like kain's original bssb spear?

50% atk boost - 537 atk
50% atk + Burst mode - 448 atk
50% + 30% atk boosts - 413 atk
