What games are those though.
Currently, mass effect, league of legends, Civilization VI. Otherwise it's also games like final fantasy, deus ex machina, tomb raider, the Witcher, dragon age, assassins creed, borderlands et cetera. I do play overwatch and battlefield, but that is very casually and it's not enough to really sway my decision. I think it was like 2 months ago I played them last.
I like ultrawides better.
But as for 4k is depends on your gfx and how often you want to upgrade that for peak performance.
Also factor in if you want >60hz video.
I'd do 2k UHD and sit on that until the next jump.
Also websites look like shit in 4k
I have a 2K ultra wide but I see it with that. A lot of newer websites are more designed more mobile so there's either a large amount of space unused or shit just gets streeeeeeeetched.
I use a 1080p monitor as a secondary for that reason.
Spoiler: show
I can't recall ever being on a site and saying to myself it looks like shit because it's in 4k.
Hmm, I fullscreen very little, I guess that could be part of it, I don't personally see the problem with that facebook view, but subjective I guess. Holding the ctrl key and using your mousewheel will make most relatively new applications scale a lot of stuff if it'll give you a more pleasant viewing experience.
Never go to Facebook. Problem solved!
I've been using a Dell P2715Q (4k, IPS, 60Hz) for about two years now, and I love it. Your GPU needs to be beefy to run games at max, but they'll look stunning. I play pretty much every genre of game you can imagine and found the 60Hz to be completely adequate. I normally have to zoom in on webpages because they do no scale well into 4k.
However, I did want to see what all the hype was about with the high refresh monitors and grabbed an Asus ROG (1440p, TN, 144Hz, ULMB, G-Sync) and found the 120 Hz ULMB to be fantastic for fast paced FPS. I returned the Asus as I preferred the color accuracy of my Dell, and I wasn't playing any FPS at the time.
Side note: I noticed you play League, the HUD items DO NOT SCALE, 1080p upscaled looks like garbage (along with mouse movement being weird), and the camera doesn't center on your character well. By not scaling, everything on your map and HP bars are 1/4 the size on the screen currently. You can see it in the picture scaled down to 1080p below. It's made League extremely hard to play.

So I'll echo some thoughts earlier in the thread while ignoring the IPS part since you can get that on high refresh monitors
4k 60Hz is great for all games minus fast paced FPS
1440p 120Hz+ with ULMB (Lightboost) for fast paced FPS and League
Samsung has fine and high-quality monitors. Will you use it for games?
Quit fucking necroing.
