FFRK - Dancing Heart (XII) Event & Strategies

    "Where are you?" - Penelo*
    "I'm coming, Penelo!" - Vaan

Mehnelo and Penelol may be substituted through the post. Just a heads up.

Anyone else find it fitting that a FFXII event begins on Star Wars Day?

Event Start Date: May The Fourth Be With You
    Event Bonus Battle: May 7
    Event End Date: May 14

All information is taken from a mixture of Reddit/Spreadsheets/Kongpakbao Site.

Most, if not all info for the event (Commentary/Ultimate Abilities was directly copy/pasted from it, so all credit to the site for that especially!) comes from this site: https://www.reddit.com/r/FFRecordKee...ld&sh=51613ed3

    Relics

Ashe is missing from the next 2 FFXII events.

Overall these 2 banners are okay, but the next XII banner is filled with the good items here and then Reks stuff.

Banner 1 has some +Dark items and banner 2 is a majority of either +Holy or +Dark items, if you like that sort of thing.

The star of the event, Penelol, gets a new USB and has her burst return. Her Hermes Suit gives an instant Curaga heal, party physical blink, and a HP Stock of 2k.

The other new items on banner 1 are Vaan and Gabranth's new SSB's. Vaan has an instant AoE damage -Atk/Def 50% break, while Gabranth gets AoE damage w/En-dark.

Banner 2 is mostly old stuff, with the exception of Larsa's burst (which is damn good) and Basch's OSB.

Larsa gets party Curaga and Astra (status blink) on entry, with an instant Curaja and standard Medica commands.

Basch's OSB functions like Luneths, but with Holy/Dark elements.

    Notes and CM Strategies:
Consider bringing Basch with Lure Magic for this fight. It'll redirect all those Shocks and Flares to a much more durable target. He can also bring Banishing Strike for the Haste if you don't mind healing Shemhazai a little in exchange.

Shemhazai starts the battle Hasted and weak to fire. She changes elements every time she takes elemental damage she is weak to. Shemhazai uses her AOE Silencega on her 2nd turn in Default phase. She uses Enrage, Chain Magick, and her AOE Silencega on her 1st, 2nd, and 3rd turns, respectively, in Weak phase. These are true regardless of which element she is weak to.

Shemhazai's Speed combined with Chain Magick makes her Haste actually relevant in this fight. If you don't remove her Haste, in her Weak phase she'll be spamming you with attacks every half-second or so. Haste takes her from one attack every 1.167 seconds to one attack every 0.583 seconds. In other words, in this case Haste literally doubles her action count. Note that for once Dispel is preferable to Banishing Strike, because the latter will heal her.

Make sure you equip your healer with the best Silence Resistance accessory you have. If you're bringing mages along, be sure to put Silence Resistance of some sort on them or to bring Ultra Cure on your healer to cure it.

I thought so, but I just kept seeing "blink" listed and typed it right after Mehnelo's USB with physical blink.

    Thanks.

Wow, that SSB for Vaan.... Instant ATK/DEF, and AoE. Would make him more versatile in battles with multiple targets. To hold hold off for Lucky banner? Or pull for a chance at Vaan SSB. I have his BSSB and OSB. BSSB is nice, but it's MAG/DEF and single target. OSB is nice as well, it also is single target. Ohh.... the temptation....

Don't pull for that. Next FFXII event will have that plus Vaan's USB in the same banner (on top of other goodies such as Penelo's USB and Reks relics).

Yea, this banner set isn't exciting for me. I'd rather grab his USB/SSB at the same time than chance getting just the SSB when I already have his OSB/BSB.

A couple months, not that far. It's right after Lightning's USB event.

Ugh, this CM, this realm... based on his barrier shift nature I wanted to go mostly mage, went in and his very first move silencega landed on all 5 characters... needled to say I just sat and watched everyone die. Decided to stick to physical.

80 Balthier - Blizzaga Strike, Thundering Twinstrike - Mako Might - Inferno
80 Larsa - Full Break, MagicBD- Ace Striker - Manufacted Marvel
87 Basch - Banishing Strike, Lifesiphon - Battleforged - Apoc Shield, Shining Ray BSB
80 Penelo - Shellga, Ultra Cure - Knights Charge - Intercession
80 Fran - Affliction Break, PowerBD - Dr. Mog - Mist Overload
    RW Stoneskin II

Balthier did most of the damage, started with Inferno for Fire proc, then Ice, then Thunder, when fire came around again, he was Enfired from previous inferno use, so just regular attack, and repeat - by the time Enfire wore, Inferno was ready again. With Affliction Break and Moderate Silence Resist accessory on Penelo she was able to avoid the Silencega. Basch needed to Apoc Shield for the Attack boost, but then could BSB. Keeping healed for the second half I had to ride Intercession AND Manufacted Marvel. Ultimate Scourge, especially back to back, hurt! Penelo died right at the end, but Balthier did a 5x 9999 Inferno for the win.

Ult+: From 100-50 it was a breeze; from 50-0 I had to restart several times so I could save enough meter to burst her down. Short fuse+scourage = bad times.
Ult++: Had to restart a couple times but silencega was essential to stop firaga and elemental fangs. Silence also stops the on-death haste/pro/shell so I took two silencers and focused one down, then AOE'd to slowly kill the rest.

Short Fuse is no joke. May move Dispel from Ashe to Penelo, drop Protectga, and just do it that way. Between Vaan BSB and Fran FB/Downs I was only taking 900 from Scourge.

Using Matoya's BSB, and it should only take me one cast on Ashe to proc a cycle.

    Entry -> Cmd 1 (Ice) -> Cmd 2 (Lit) -> Cmd 1 (Fire) -> Cmd 1 (Ice) -> OSB = Dead.

Edit: Nevermind. Kept setup as is and just did one cycle.

Ashe entry -> Cmd 1 (Ice) -> Ashe OSB -> Dead. Vaan and Fran helped damage with their breakdowns. Only bothered with the initial dispel and left the weak phase one alone, because Scourge was still heavily mitigated and only doing 900 dmg.

I could have bought an 11 pull and have 1000 gems left over, but all I got was this silly title.

CM U+ went down on the first try, it's definitely a DPS race and i'm still rather well positioned from lucky draws and going hog wild on a couple older FF12 banners. had to redo it for mastery though 'cuz balthier ate it before i could get fire damage in on run 1. made some minor adjustments and the mastery run went like:

vaan: LS until BSB is ready, BSB > armor break > northern cross
balthier: shout RW, LS until BSB, BSB
fran: full breakdown SSB, PBD, MBD
    penelo: shellga, spam cures
basch: SSB (the party pblink saves a ridiculous amount of damage from the 3rd turn AoE phys), LS spam

balthier started the BSB cast right as short fuse went on, which took it down to <5%, vaan had a northern cross queued that finished it off. boss didn't get a single move off after short fuse.
