FFRK - Dreaming's End (X) Event and Strategies

"Yuna's there, so we go and get her!" - Tidus
"Stay with me until the end. Please." - Yuna

Kimahri is oddly also a feature of the event. For whatever reasons, only the hornless know.

    Event Start Date: May 11
    Event Bonus Battle: May 14
    Event End Date: May 21

All information is taken from a mixture of Reddit/Spreadsheets/Kongpakbao Site.

Most, if not all info for the event (Commentary/Ultimate Abilities was directly copy/pasted from it, so all credit to the site for that especially!) comes from this site: https://www.reddit.com/r/FFRecordKee...ld&sh=51613ed3

    Notable Rewards:
Blue Deep - 4* Sharpshooter. It is basically a non-AoE version of the 4* ability or a 1 hit version of the 5* ability.

Tidus's Necklace - Accessory. ATK+15. Moderate Water resistance.

    New Characters Acquired:
No new dreams added to the mix. Your exp eggs can remain unsent.

    Dress Spheres Acquired:
    Dissidia Tidus
    False Bride Yuna
    Red Tidus

    Old Characters Acquired:
    Rikku
    Paine
    Kimahri
    Jecht

    New Memory Crystals:
    No new level break dreams.

    Old Memory Crystals
    All the old Memory Crystals!
    Rikku MC1
    Paine MC1/MC2
    Kimahri MC1/MC2
    Jecht MC1
    Tidus MC1/MC2
    Yuna MC1/MC2
    Red Tidus MC1/MC2

    New Record Sphere
    No new Record Spheres.

    Characters Needed for Battles
Possible Event Quest: Complete Stage 7: Mt. Gagazet with a party consisting of only Kimahri.

    Cid Missions
Do note that this event signals the format change for CM's and U missions. U++ will now be the standard CM fight - and this one is a pretty severe difficulty spike.

Complete Ultimate++ fight with a party of FF X heroes.

    Relics
It is a little bit of a hard banner to judge. On one hand, there are a lot of good items here between Banner 1 and Banner 2. On the other hand, these aren't 'Oui Are Al Bhed's' banners and thus don't have Rikku's one stop buff shop.

Banner 1 features Yuna's "Be All End All" Raise USB and Tidus's water contribution to the CSB line. Yuna's USB is unique in that the Haste and Last Stand effects are applied *after* the raise effect, so characters that are revived at least get a mulligan as you re-set buffs. The Medica entry is only H85 however.

Also, Auron gets a new fire themed BSB that is okay and Rikku offers an ATK/MAG 30% buff along with self no-charge, but that is heavily out-shadowed by her USB with ATK/MAG, Hastega, Pro+Shellga in a few months.

Banner 2 has some utility to go along with Kimahri's new water themed BSB. Paine's BSB offers a rare Dispelga on entry with Spellblade Ability triggered damage boosts and water/wind + water/earth commands. Kimahri offers a % heal on Cmd1 and Self-Ether on Cmd2.

Jecht's new SSB gives Loudside without the Haste. Tidus's BSB returns on this banner along with Yuna's SSB medica if you didn't happen to pull her USB on banner 1.

Small notice in that a realm Hastega does not reoccur here, as Paine's Gloves and Tidus's Swiftform are not on these banners. Consider that with your RW options for the CM.

Worth waiting for 'Oui Are Al Bhed' for sure, but you may need a little additional help here to get through the Spherimorph U++ CM right now. Don't whale here, but a few pulls may be worth it.

Notes: Sand Worm uses Swallow on its 2nd turn and Regurgitate 5 turns after using Swallow. There's some more AI bits about using different Regurgitate versions but I'm not sure what the exact triggers are for each version.

One thing to look out for is that the Swallowed target is immune to everything, including heals, but will still attract heals if they're the lowest HP character.

2: Spherimorph always uses spells of the element opposite its current weakness (water/thunder, fire/ice).

    Notes and CM Strategies:
Spherimorph changes elemental weakness after its weakness is exploited twice.

This version of Spherimorph is actually mechanically much easier than previous versions.

It doesn't resist or null any elements and its counterattacks are nowhere near 100%. This means that you really don't need to take a whole elemental team and Wakka won't fuck you over by applying breaks. Bring mixed mitigation leaning heavily on the magic end and you'll be fine. 凶 Press can hurt a bit but as long as you keep the Spherimorph debuffed with Full Break + Magic Breakdown, it shouldn't be too terrible.

    Notes:
You fight the summons in order, Valefor->Ifrit->Ixion. This is not a 3v5 fight (thank god)

Valefor uses 凶 Sonic Wings on its first turn in Weak phase, uses Energy Blast no more than once every 3 turns, and always follows Energy Blast with its strong single target Attack.

Ifrit uses 凶 Hellfire on its first turn and every 5 turns thereafter, and always follows 凶 Hellfire with Attack.

Ixion uses 凶 Aero Spark on its first turn and its first turn in Very Weak phase and every 7 (Weak/Very Weak) or 8 (Default) turns afterwards, and always follows 凶 Aero Spark with Attack.

I recommend using your Wall right away, but not renewing it until Ifrit is dead or nearly so (Ifrit leads with a piercing attack and is fairly easy to blitz through). Similarly, I recommend holding onto your hastega until Valefor uses 凶 Sonic Wings and again until Ixion uses 凶 Aero Spark (the latter is less important as you'll have had more time to build up excess SB gauge).

Make sure to re-apply your Shellga and Protectga after 凶 Aero Spark! Ixion's attacks really hurt without that protection, and if your Wall falls he'll deal 4000-5000 damage to an unprotected party.

Ult++: Oh no it's spherimorph! I only have ssbs and lower in X so I played the element game with kimahri, lulu, and seymour (braska and yuna doing healing). The element game was actually a lot easier than surviving the damage caused by my inability to move through vulnerabilities quick enough. My X synergy is depressing but I can't beef it up due to saving myth for extreme fest.

Apoc: This was considerably harder than ult++. Ifrit's a bit of a joke but valefor's slows can tax your RW time and drain your resources for the eventual ixion battle, which is pretty tough if you let it go on. Eventually I used dingus's bssb for drawfire+reta to eat ST slow on valefor, and shout for massive atk stacking with natural OK buff; I wasn't clearing 20k damage on his commands anyway so I wasn't wasting damage I guess? Also went with lightning resist gear and it helped quite a bit.

Apoc+ was a zombie run for me. RW Rata's Edge SSB, brought my own native Edge SSB (and BSB but only got 1 cast off) I was pretty much hanging on at the end and probably procced last stand about 4 times in total lol. Mastered. Also forgot to wear lightning resist which would have made Ixion a lot more manageable.

Spherimorph was not as annoying as I remember him - maybe a testament to increased synergy?

99 Wakka - Full Break, Magic BD - Assault Reels - Battleforged
80 Paine - Blizzaga Strike, Blazing TwinStrike - Liquid Steel - Lionheart
    99 Yuna - UltraCure, Shellga - HotF, Miracle Veil - Knight's Charge
99 Tidus - Full Charge, Lifesiphon - Abes All-Stars, Fleeting Dream - Ace Striker
80 Lulu - Chain Fire, Chain Thunder - Icy Smile - BLM doublecast
RW - O. Knight, Vessel of Fate

the Chainspells, Twin Strikes, BSB from Tidus, and EnWater from Paines Liquid Steel made element rotations easy, not much else to say about this one, never had a chance to 'press' us.

    Apoc+, I lost 2 medals to Damage Taken, and one to actions, took an adjusted A-Team;

    99 Squall - TempoFlurry, Lifesiphon - Sub-Zero Blast - Battle Forged
99 O Knight - Protectga, Lifesiphon - Vessel of Fate - Mako Might
99 Tidus - FullCharge, Lifesiphon - Abe's All Stars, Fleeting Dream - Ace Striker
    99 Yuna - Shellga, UltraCure - Miracle Veil - Knight's Charge
99 Tyro - FullBreak, MagicBD - Sent Grim - Mogs Teachings
    RW - Y'shtola, Asylum

Stored up soul breaks on Tidus and Squall just Life Siphoning Valefor, and OK in mage-mode with Swiftspell. Tyro broke. Yuna healed. OK swiftspelled enough to build another soulbreak gauge to reapply Vessel and remove the PT-Slow from Valfor right before Ifrit popped.
Once Ifrit popped; Tyro Broke and reapplied Sent. Grim., Squall went to town with 3x Sub Zero Blasts for about 60k each, and with swiftspells and a few fullcharges he was gone pretty fast. Reapplied Pro and Shell for Ixion, Yuna and OK resisted Stop, so no issues. Tidus went crazy, first with Fleeting Dream to start up water chain, then 2 BSBs.

    ...now, Yunalesca 220, ugh.

Did some S/L until I got some starting RNG targeting that was a little more favorable in hitting multiple people and not piling onto one person (Tidus), but fight was not too bad.

Did not run protect, hoping that Wakka's Full Breakdown and Power Breakdown was enough for the rare physical hits. Paine and Lulu split elemental affinities while Tidus waiting in the bushes until it was water weakness for his OSB. Yuna took enough damage to get a 2nd USB off near the end without being in "oh shit" mode.

Been slacking off this week but this seems like another overhyped difficulty spike. I have to say that I don't do high end battles on my JP account to keep something fresh for GL but the Aeons were pretty damn easy for my team.

-Edge: Steal Power, Phantasm - Eblan Doppelganger - Sacred Tradition RM
-Squall: Lifesiphon, Engulfing Twinstrike - Sub-Zero Blast, Mystic Flurry - Truthseeker RM
-Onion Knight: Protectga, Wrath - Sword and Spell, Vessel of Fate - Ace Striker RM
-Yuna: Curaja, Shellga - Song for Spira - Knight's Charge RM
-Tyro: Magic Breakdown, Full Break - Sentinel's Grimoire - Dr. Mog's Teachings RM

    RW: Tenets of the Fayth

Really overkill on Hastegas here but that Blink really helped a lot on Ixion. All characters with thunder resist accessories obviously and I did use normal Attacks on Valefor/Ifrit. Squall was still doing 7k per hit on him after Mystic Flurry due to Enblizzard.
Summoned RW with Yuna and I did activate summoning mode for some extra damage on the AoE heals.

Well wasn't able to complete Apoc + on both Yunalesca and Aeon fight due to running out of time to do it before the event ends, I need to stop putting this stuff off for the weekend cause I end up with only 3 hours a day on the weekend.

Yeah, I'm never doing this again. Yunalesca was a pain in the ass but I managed to master the fight Solo. Don't really wanna experience this ever again, RNG craziness.
